CRAPware - Can anybody help?
 

Hi there, I got this fuckin spyware on my computer and it won't go away!
It's called xads.offeroptimizer.com.
when I open internet explorer, sometimes (appx 50%) another browser will appear in the taskbar. I think it isn't working right, because no ads come up on the computer, when I click on it, nothing happens, it doesn't seem to have a browser window. It is only on the task bar. But it is pissing me off none the less!
It should not be there, plus, after a few hours of work, sometimes I find the taskbar cluttered with them.
I have spent hours trying to get rid of it, I tried spybot, adaware, hijack this, and spyware blaster, Norton antivirus, panda online virus scan, and pcpitstop scan. I used a registry cleaning program, plus did a search on everything that had to do with xads and removed it.

Run adaware spybot and all the spyware remove programs.. run that hijack this program as well.... Also switch to mozilla firefox or a different browser. ie is horrible

I have the same crap on my comp, ran adware, spybot s&d. Nothing will remove it :-s

Are you booting into safe mode before you run adaware, etc.?
It's the only way you'll get that shit off.

Also, when you run hijack this.. be sure you really eyeball everything that looks odd and do a search in google for anything you have questions about.
