Just heard on the news; the players association's proposal was rejected.

A walkout or a lockout is imminant.


Enjoy the world cup of hockey while it lasts, because there truly won't be any NHL happening this fall. There was a shred of hope until now, but that's it. I hope this is resolved in under two years so the winter Olympics aren't affected.

It'll be like 1994 all over again. In December or January, both sides will compromise and sign a new deal hastily in order to save the season. I can't fathom the NHL shutting down for an entire year.

The baseball strike from 10 years ago pretty much killed any interest I had in that fucking sport - and now it looks like my favorite sport, hockey, will soon face the same results from me...

what a bunch of idiots. not sure why both sides won't give more considering whats at stake. nhl just signed a crap tv deal and they can't afford to piss off fans.
