Players Ball Announcement - Cypress Hill and more
 

Here's the deal.

It looks like we will have it at the same venue as last year, Prana Lounge. It's very VIP and was the biggest hit of the party last year.

Cypress Hill called back today, they said it's 90% certain they're taking this gig. They said they really want this one. Their deadline to accept my offer is tomorrow, they've had a week which is how that stuff works. Tomorrow I'll post again once it's 100% locked in with contracts.

We sold out of the 3 main sponsorships and have only 2 second level sponsorships left.

Once we sell out of that we will have only 700 tickets left, which will be broken into packages starting at $5k each. In other words, it will be tough to get a pass unless you're a sponsor or you are doing business with our sponsors. I'll announce the sponsor line up soon. Some companies are revamping their structures and are waiting to make that announcement.

This will be the hottest webmaster event since we had Snoop Dogg perform back in 2001. I strongly encourage those who are thinking about attending this event and would also like nice exposure to contact me asap to lock in your sponsorship.

I won't be able to hook people up with passes at all this time, so for those who think I can flip them passes, I can't. This is a party for the sponsors, they have the tickets to give away. I'll only have like 10 passes for myself to work with and they're accounted for already.

I'm officially getting excited. Less then 4 months away and the hype is about to begin. Sponsors will benefit this time with 4 times the exposure then the past because it will be locked in 4 months early. Usually we lock it in 1 month away.

Getting a pass is VIP. Our VIP in the past was 1500 people at C2K, this venue is 2000 or less.

The only VIP's will be in private rooms like last year or a small section with booths.

We need to get a NATS rap together. Lots of things rhyme with NATS. It should be easy!

I have a solution. I think.

I had a system built where I can give codes to you. Each code can be emailed to each person you invite. They go to a page online and register themselves as a guest of yours. Then they can pick up their passes when they get in town, from either me or you, which ever you prefer.

The system is built, just have to have my tech issue codes again. This will take all pressure away from sponsors being hit up last second. Things are going to be well organized and taken care of in advance in all departments this year. Anything less then flawless is unacceptable.

The other possible one is DJ Premiere.

The Beatnuts might be added as well, they met up with me last week and gave a super bro discount. Digital Underground and their new live band is playing, and maybe Too Short will do a tune or 2.

It's going to be action packed. If we have the Beatnuts, I told them no longer then a 20 minute set. We have too much going on and can't afford to lose any of our crowd, so we'll have their best 20 minute set ever.

to be quite honest, nothing has really intrigued me yet about the party...i am not a stoner, so I dont' like cypress hill..digital underground is cool and all but I have seen them 15 times....dj premiere would be cool, but from the bootleg sets I have of himi doubt I would enjoy him too much live....too short would be rockin (and might I add the only person performing that fits the theme), but if he is only doing a song or two that sucks big time

i am a dj, so having someone like qbert, shortkut, mixmaster mix, bad boy bill, etc would just make me wanna have to be there

i know no one cares one way or another if my measly ass goes or not, but I would love to have a reason

Well, I can have Too Short play a full concert, but the problem is, Cypress Hill is so much money, I wouldn't want people to leave before the start. And when they're done, half the room will clear. It's hard to hold our audience for 4 or 5 hours at max capacity. I'm looking into adding Ice-T, depending on the money. Maybe instead of the Beatnuts, I'll add Ice-T. I can always have the Beatnuts play the Webmaster Access show in LA, and do Ice-T in January.

I'd say, QBert is most likely the "other" DJ I'll add.

I'm even considering changing the theme from Pimp and Ho to something else. We've done Pajama, Old School in addition to pimp. But what would we make this theme? The Smoke Out? I'll get sued for using that name.

Man, I'll never get offended from people sharing their honest points of views, it's how I improve. Keep them coming. I might even add a rock band still.

Ludacris would have been $30k more then Cypress, so if they agree, I know it's the biggest bang for the buck. And most webmasters would prefer Cypress over Luda anyway, though Luda is a bigger and hipper artist at the moment.

But hey, as with all other Players Ball's, you never know who might show up. I can say this, I have a VERY good chance on getting Ludacris to show up as a surprise and maybe perform a tune or so. I won't mention it again, but just remember, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to lend more credibility to the Pimp theme. Don Magic Juan might even be a part of this as well.
