does your internet has download limits?

i ask this myself many times, cause i do think that Portugal should be the only country in the world with the, "fucking stupid" download limits of 2 gigabytes of upload and 2 of download. this sometimes is really a pain on the ass for me but i always manage to do the things i need from 1 am to 7am where downloads are not counted. Not talking on the speed that is only 640kb/s :(

is there anyone else in the world with soo bad internet rules or am i just complaining without a reason :)

Vitasoy 09-09-2004 04:17 PM

Download limits no, but I know cable around here has upload limits.

LukieD 09-09-2004 04:18 PM

No download/upload limits unless you are seriously taking the piss in which case they'd probably just give you a warning.

Paparazzi 09-09-2004 04:21 PM

2 gb sucks REALLY bad :(

johndoebob 09-09-2004 04:21 PM

"Your internet" ? :1orglaugh It would be "your internet access" or "your line" just to correct you that the question makes sense :winkwink:

2Gb sucks, I know there are better providers in .pt

2GB per day or month?

Tipsy 09-09-2004 04:24 PM

Unfortunately 1gb a day on my current service although they're not strict about it unless you go over a lot. But then I don't download huge pirate movies or software so rarely use the 1gig unless I'm doing something like a major site update.

For sure you can, just want to help you to improve your english :winkwink:

I know some guys from portugal and they're downloading stuff all day, no clue which provider they're using.

Just a normal flatrate here 2Mbit up/down and of course no limits.

BlueFly 09-09-2004 04:38 PM

no limits here...

freeadultcontent 09-09-2004 04:39 PM

Ummm...how do you jump to that conclusion? Many of the UK providers now have limits, at least a few of the Australian providers do too as far as I know. I'd imagine a lot of other countries do as well. Obviously not common in the US though.

Jace 09-09-2004 06:04 PM

no limits here, i get at least 20-30gb every month

BrainDead 09-09-2004 06:27 PM

uhuh... very unfortunate you then... we're a bit luvckier bach ere

see it more like a feeling that i have ... and mostly because when i ask someone about limits they say normaly "limits? whats that"
:)

and i have 2 gigs up, 2 gigs down monthly (and free hours from 1-8am) but i like to sleep and the computer turned on while i sleep is a thing that really anoys me.

and... yes, there are better ISP's in Portugal but, the price to pay is a lot higher when compared with some other countries over the Europe and because i have two residences i dont like very much the idea of paying 200 euros to have decent internet service.

I am also at 640kb/s and don't consider this so slow.

No limits here, but they are considering to intrduce a 5G limit :BangBang:

No limits with my cable or DSL accounts. I do know there is a cap on many sattelite providers. A fair use cap or some shit that brings you down to dial up speeds after you pass the cap on a daily basis.

Manowar 09-11-2004 06:35 AM

Nope, no limits on anything

bluff 09-11-2004 06:37 AM

over here you have 10 gigs download a month , for 1$ you can buy one extra gig

not really that much transfer , but it is enough for me

Basic_man 09-11-2004 08:16 AM

Yeah, Videotron have damn fuckin' limits !

CJswe 09-11-2004 08:23 AM

Up here there are a few providers (usually smaller) who still play that game. Personally I fail to see how they can actually get new customers to sign up for a dsl line or whatever if it isn 't flat rate, especially since there are tons of other providers who supply just that.

sirrobin 09-11-2004 08:33 AM

8 mbps DSL here in Belgium, no limits :thumbsup

South Europe is a bit backward compared to the rest (in terms of broadband).

Limits really suck but then you cant expect an unlimited line for ?20 per month

johnbosh 09-11-2004 08:34 AM

nope

fris 09-11-2004 08:36 AM

nope, i have straight 1.5mb dsl, unlimited downloads.
