Oh Damn. I Just found a check from 2003

I'm such a retard

Was doing some paper work when i found an old Check from October 2003 ... 2580 $

damn :feels-hot

p.s. it does not say "void after 90 days" on the check. does that mean it still can be cashed? or are US checks automatically void after X days?

ezrydn 09-09-2004 06:59 AM

Run it through. All they can say is no.

More Booze 09-09-2004 06:59 AM

maybe you should talk to the sponsor about that :)

EscortBiz 09-09-2004 06:59 AM

whos the check from? maybe they will reissue it

if not try putting it into your bank account

alexg 09-09-2004 06:59 AM

that's pretty dumb, but then, you should probably be happy if you can affort to "lose" checks for over $2k

stocktrader23 09-09-2004 06:59 AM

Is it clickcash?

it's from clickcash. the program with the best affiliate support. :winkwink:

also, they are famous for handling checks "the special way"

:feels-hot

StuartD 09-09-2004 07:02 AM

I found one from 2003 not to long ago, but luckily mine was only $55 so I just didn't bother with it.

They may have changed banks in between. Just tell your bank to put a hold on it until it clears. That way you won't spend it.

i'm from western europe. it's cheaper for me if i cash them in bundles ...

:glugglug

LadyMischief 09-09-2004 07:15 AM

you could always ask the sponsor to reissue the check

mardigras 09-09-2004 07:20 AM

Banks themselves often have time limits on checks, generally 6mos-1yr. Best as some suggest to ask the sponsor if they can re-issue.

myjah 09-09-2004 07:21 AM

Deposit it

zentz 09-09-2004 07:31 AM

go to the bank

gangbangjoe 09-09-2004 08:40 AM

I found one check dating back to 2003 the other day but it was for $29.00 :)

No bank will cash that. It will come back stale dated.

Your sponsor SHOULD re-issue it though.

inabon 09-09-2004 08:46 AM

if it doesn't say void after run it.

Tom_PMs 09-09-2004 09:41 AM

I'm notoriously forgettful and besides, last year was real nasty personally so I have stacks of outdated checks.
The good thing is that I use good sponsors and they've already told me to find them all and send them the check numbers. They'll verify that they're still outstanding, void them, and reissue.
Good luck :)

Lucy 09-09-2004 09:45 AM

just try, go to the bank and you'll see, I think if the check doesn't say "void after 90 days", you should still be fine, good luck

zzgundamnzz 09-09-2004 09:45 AM

You might as well try to cash it. It might just work...

rowan 09-09-2004 09:46 AM

I'm wondering why sponsors and third party billers don't follow up on checks that have not been cashed within X days.

Verbal 09-09-2004 09:52 AM

LOL .... thanks for posting this :) I cleaned my car last weekend and found one in between the seats. Same thing, the check didnt have an expiration date. I called the sponsor (ACMP) and they said that it's fine and I can go ahead and cash it.

Babaganoosh 09-09-2004 09:57 AM

I just found one from November of 2003 that did say void after 90 days. I took it to my bank and they said checks are valid for a year regardless of what they say on them.

sherie 09-09-2004 09:59 AM

The sponsor should re-issue the cheque. I know that I have had to re-issue cheques to webmasters for the same reasons.

Sexzity 09-09-2004 10:04 AM

How is it possible to lose a check?

Thatīs what I was thinking...

Screaming 09-09-2004 11:30 AM

if it doesnt say it then cash it
or at least try wont hurt

Strife 09-09-2004 11:37 AM

My bank told me that they couldn't accept checks older than 6 months because of US banking regulations. You should try cashing the check, if your bank won't accept it than go ask the sponsor to re-issue. You may or may not have to mail the voided check back to them.
