God damn - now's the time to buy a car
friend of mine just bought a new blazer - listed for $34,000 - 2004 model, not a 2005 though- only 34 kms on it, not thousand - only 34Kms - like 3 test drives. brand new- $22,500 cash price.
wish they would have dropped mine by 1/3 when i bought it... grrr |
Good time to buy for sure..trying to dump the 2004 models.

i'm looking around casually too, i want a car for here in AZ... not my GF's Escalade all the time
thing is, there is SO much to choose from all the time! i keep changing my mind every week :( |
Did that with my pick up.
It was listed at 32,900 and got it for 21,900 |
Well, that's what they're worth. 2005 models are out already...making the 2004 models worth less...even if they're brand new. Also, if you buy a 2004 now and go to sell it 1 year from now, the dealer will consider it a 2 year old car and will give you less for it than a 2005 model bought the same day with the same amount of miles.
But if you plan on keeping a car for a few years, yah, buying at the end of the year or at tax time is a good deal. |
It certainly is...just picked up a 2004 GMC Envoy and I'm loving it :)

The advertised discounts and cashbacks are getting crazy, never mind the other specials that are around. But then so are the credit terms being offered: up to 7 years to pay off on something which doesn't hold any value near that long.
Manufacturing over-capacity and the cumulative effect of years of steadily better terms have brought this about. I read recently that 70%-80% of people buying cars on credit owe more than their car is worth. If the carmakers didn't make outrageous offers, sales would dry up. It's anyone's guess how long before the bubble bursts, because every time the price of new vehicles drops, the price of used models takes a tumble too. That simply makes the overall situation worse. |

I wish I'd had waited to get the 350-Z, but I didn't have a choice. Oh well... Heads up to everybody interested in buying a car!
