it's much smaller than the DCR-DVD200 and has the addition of the four way directional pad that makes operating the camcorder much easier...but coz it's smaller, it might lower the video quality.

What is the shelf life of those DVD's? I know my 8mm tapes from around 88 still work good, do they expect those burned DVDs to last long?
