could be! if they happen every ninety seconds or so, i think thats all they can tap in for then they have to get of for a min or so

The click on a tapped phone is a myth from what I understand.

Modern taps, those used by the govenrment in the last decade or so do not use devices that "click". Clicking would be heard usually on an amateur installed device INSIDE the local loop. If you think there is a click, and you think it is a recording device, look around the house first.

My assumption would be the same, but your not entirely correct.

They do still use "click" taps.

But more likely , is its a cordless phone and someone is monitoring the calls from a very close location. ( like a nosy next door neighbour ) or it is a line tap and the click is the tape recorder ( very common as well ) both would be rather close if its in a house. If its an condominium , it could be farther away..

If its the feds, you prob, dont know or wouldn't know unless they told you. ( and they usually do )

I didn't want to give that much info on it Smokey, which is why I worded it in general terms (hence the not entirely correct thing). If it's the Fed's, you will not know, as they have gone almost entirely digital and the device would be nowhere near your home or office. Now, if they wanted it to look like it was someone else if it was found, this of course would lead to a different scenario. The clicking is usually a hook activated recorder, a cordless phone changing freq's, or a power surge (as in a parasitic powered device), and even these are just a few of the causes although the most common. I have already talked to NP enough to know that none of those are what he is hearing on his lines, as his phone system is not run on an outside line (he uses cable). Only way any of those earlier mentioned devices could fall into play is if someone got inside his home and installed something or someone inside his home installed something.

if its anyone that you should worry about id assume you wouldnt know they are listening. Probebly just your phone sucks, call whoever your service is thru.
