Hawaii's beautiful, but it's also so overrated... the living expenses suck, and too many tourists.

:) Reason for St Maartin is.. the "dual cultures", direct flights to continents, language is English/French/Dutch, a tax-free port.

I almost bought an amazing villa there, but the owner - nice guy - dropped dead on the golf course in the middle of the deal and that screwed his estate stuff up.

Probably the most relevant bit is the people are the friendliest I've ever seen anywhere. It's just amazing what they will do for ya! :-)

I'd rate Costa Rica after that, especially places that tourists really never see - also would rate Tico's (Costa Ricans) as second most friendly people.

You done some island travelling reynold?

Adultnet 09-08-2004 03:34 AM

Netherlands :)

Goatse 09-08-2004 01:50 PM

Both Switzerland and Japan are highly civilized countries where one could live a safe, qiuet life.

pure energy 09-09-2004 02:56 AM

Monaco is a good choice!

BigPinPin 09-09-2004 03:02 AM

I was one time in Monaco and i wouldn´t see a reason to stay there for a longer time....looks like standard italian cities and there are too much buildings close to the others......the prices are also more than crazy.

My choice: Malibu, Switzerland (next year)
For now i like to stay on the canary islands...nice weather

Add Germany to that and you have the three countries where I spend several months a year (in each). Then once in a while a nice vacation in the Caribbean and life is perfect :)

Sarah_Jayne 09-09-2004 03:06 AM

I already picked London once so I would again but if I was well off enough to do it I would like to split my time between Cape Ann, Mass and London with a small flat held in Bruges, Belgium.

BrainDead 09-09-2004 03:07 AM
