They make a picture of your license plate at one point on the freeway. A few miles further they check it again. If you have droven above the speedlimit you get a fine. So you have to drive slow for several miles. It's not just slowing down for 1 useless police man with a camera hidden behind the trees anymore.

No it's not the same. We already have plenty of these too.
The difference is that this system is undetectable (infrared). Plus that they can use it over several miles instead of only 1 certain point. If they want they can use it on the whole road, for example 200 miles. 200 miles driving slow like hell. That's my worst nightmare

The following takes into account you know where they're "shooting" you from, i.e., left, right or above.

Several years ago, I purchased (online) a license plate cover that was "fresnel-cut." I wanted to give 'no view' of my plate to views from the right hand side of the car. When you stood on the shoulder, which is where they were shooting photos from then, you just got a blank plate. However, if you were directly behind the car, it was unobstructed.

I don't know if they still make them or even offer them. You might want to do a search for "license plate, fresnel" or something to that effect.

They worked great when I had a set. They were also "laser diffusing." Another good feature.
