I was reading that today as well, but you will no where find a test with a normal (Singel/dual PIV) server setup. All BS'ing about mainframes and stuff.

Yup .. it was a dual xeon 2.6Ghz with 4GB Ram. It was 500% more powerful than my linux server running on a tivo.

put all the windows crap on linux and it would grind to a halt. its amazing computers can even run with windows on it :winkwink: :winkwink:

All test by Microsoft are done with multiple NIC's in the server. Linux doesn't support that very well. When the tests are done with only one NIC, performance is about the same.

And who use multiple NICs ?

It certainly is not the most common server configuration, so the results are clearly misleading...

The article is at M$.com. That alone tells you how seriously you should take it. lol
