Mack 09-06-2004 11:27 AM

I'll pass on this one thank you

Paul Markham 09-06-2004 11:29 AM

Great picture.

Tala 09-06-2004 11:29 AM

The first one is Frances. You have to scroll to the right and down to see Ivan right behind it.

The storm projection models are indicating that Ivan may well take the same course that Frances did. If I lived in Florida, I'd be moving the fuck OUT.

Basic_man 09-06-2004 11:30 AM

Fuck, good luck to everyone!

mother nature didn't throw a strike with the first ball, so she's sending her second one for the spare.

pornguy 09-06-2004 11:44 AM

Ok, Which one of you little fucks in Florida pissed off Mother Nature.
What did you do have unprotected sex with her daughter?

As always.

The latest information that I have on hurricane Ivan indicates a more northeasterly turn, which will bring it to bear on the Miami/Dade county area. I can only hope that this information is incorrect and the hurricane will take a different track.

Official Advisory:

AT 11 AM AST...1500Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE IVAN WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 11.2 NORTH...LONGITUDE 53.4 WEST OR ABOUT 435 MILES...
700 KM...EAST-SOUTHEAST OF BARBADOS.

IVAN IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 22 MPH ...35 KM/HR...AND A
WESTWARD TO WEST-NORTHWESTWARD MOTION IS EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT 24
HOURS. ON THIS TRACK THE CENTER OF THE HURRICANE WILL BE
APPROACHING THE ISLANDS IN THE WARNING AREA TOMORROW MORNING.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 125 MPH...205 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. SOME INCREASE IN STRENGTH IS POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT
24 HOURS.

HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 35 MILES... 55 KM...
FROM THE CENTER...AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP
TO 140 MILES...220 KM.

Three-day model:
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ftp/graphics...h/AL0904W+GIF/

Five day model:
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ftp/graphics.../AL0904W5+GIF/

But as can be seen here, things are still up in the air about the final approach of Ivan. There are models that say it may become a Gulf storm, and yet others that say it may become an oceanic storm.

http://maps.wunderground.com/data/im...0409_model.gif

We can only watch, wait, and hope. I'll drop whatever new information I can get as soon as I can get it.

So what's the third one for? :helpme

Tala 09-06-2004 11:51 AM

It's a wonder to me that there's much of anything left standing in Florida considering the page full of tornado warnings I have in front of me. Jesus. I may be a weather junkie/storm spotter, but there would be no way in hell my ass would be coming out of my basement! :helpme

It's rained here two or three times in months...

Hopefully Ivan will clash with a strong front and fall apart. If not, time to go back to Home Depot. man that sucks.

seems to be working fine on both browsers, might be an issue on your end

Tala 09-07-2004 10:55 AM

Looking at the models released this morning, it looks as though Ivan has a good chance of hitting Florida's south end, including Key West (!), and continuing up into the Gulf of Mexico. Folks in coastal Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida panhandle might wanna keep a REALLLLL close eye on this.
