skydiving during a hurricane?
just wondering if any wacko has tried this.
|

|

the most extreme thing any gfyer has ever done is having lunch at Burger King, after 6 days of McDonald's in a row... |
How about sky boarding during a hurricane?
|
I would do it, if we ever had hurricane's in Cali. But their not really common over here!

Absurd.
Plane's don't fly in Hurricane weather over land. The turbulance it creates is far too dangerous. Over water, planes can fly right in to the eye of the hurricane pretty much, but not over land. You would need to take your jump plane off outside of the hurricane fly in to the hurricane. Secondly, sky diving is different than parachuting. Rectangular parachutes don't work by "filling with air" and creating drag. Rather, they're made up of a number of cells that fill with air and create the wing shape of the parachute. You're more or less dangling underneath a wing you can control with your risers. A cloth glider if you will. It'd be damn near impossible to fly this in a hurricane. |

never tried it, but it sounds like fun

Sounds like suicide
|
Having been through the last 2 in FL I would never consider this. It is bad enough hearing the howling wind and watching the trees and everything else fly away.

Don't know, but I was a paratrooper and any thing over 20 mph wind was dangerous.
Another thing if a plane could fly, I really don't think you would be able 2 get out of the plane. Talk about a blast. A C130 has 2 slow way down for the people 2 get out of the door. |
