Story of a Canuck in California
Okay... the first thing I noticed when I got out of the airport is the insane heat. I commented on it right away. I mean this is like crazytown for heat.
Anyways, I am slowly adjusting day after day. But today I had to go to the store to get some more groceries and grab a couple movies. It's all good, walking along in light khakis and a hawaiian shirt. After about 5 minutes I start sweating. Okay no problem. Then 1 minute later I start sweating to the point where I feel like it is raining on the back of my neck. It was POURING off me! Then it started coming down on my face. My back and legs starting sweating. Good god! I was chatting to the girl at the movie store (who I know wants to ask if I hunt seals or have my own canoe) and I was commenting on the heat. She said "Ah... not so bad today." I choked on my own spit. Anywhoo I got home and changed into some new clothes and washed myself off. Cause I was all salty. I know how horny that makes you when you read this. It's all good at night but I think if I am going to go outside I am going to buy an electric fan or a solar powered fan-hat. |
Come to Louisiana.

Great story!
Reminds of years ago getting off a plane in Mexico coming from frigid Canada. The heat and humidity hit you in the face like a baseball bat getting off that plane. I am used to it now, but that first time blew me away. Have fun in Cali! :thumbsup |
NudeCanada: you're right on the button. The airport was airconditioned. It DID feel like a slap in the face. Weird you mention that.
I also have MAD chapped lips for the first 2 days. I am finding myself drinking TONS of water. |

Normal high: 93° Record high: 115° (1988) Normal low: 59° Record low: 53° (1995) Measured at airport which is away from the hotter microclimates and blacktop hotspots. We have hit over 115 several times in August. |
Brad, I almost got turned on by your thread... Is that wrong?

ROFL Brad... its not that hot... atleast its not humid.
I wish I had taken pics of my arms about 2 weeks ago before I came back to cali, to show how white they were and how dark brown they are now. :1orglaugh I love it here tho... was a beautiful day today, and I was driving on I-10 early this evening as the sun was setting looking out at the mountains infront of me, OMFG .... Just beautiful... something from out of a movie, with my t-tops off, it was pretty cool. |
