AT&T Wireless good? bad?

Has anyone here ever used (or currently use) AT&T wireless? How's the service?

pornkitten 09-04-2004 11:25 AM

everyone says comcast is good

Stewie 09-04-2004 11:25 AM

It sux!! everywhere we go, our AT&T phones have the worst reception compared to those around us (and we've tried various models of phones - the service just sux)! :2 cents:

kush 09-04-2004 11:27 AM

I've had it for about 3 years and I'm ready to switch to probably Cingular.

I'm not satisfied with the service. It's not shitty service, but others are better.

fusionx 09-04-2004 11:27 AM

I'm on Sprint which was great in the Tampa, FL area, but it totally sucks in Charlotte, NC. Everyone here seems to agree that AT&T has the best coverage in this area.

It depends on where you live :-)

Ummm... Cingular is the owner of AT&T wireless.

bdld 09-04-2004 11:33 AM

AT&T wireless blows, go with Sprint.

nap 09-04-2004 11:39 AM

I'm with Sprint. AT&Ts network sucks and Cingular owns AT&T. Go with either Verizon or Sprint.

Rob 09-04-2004 11:43 AM

It's ok ever since they upgraded their networks. :2 cents:

The networks here in Austin I believe are different. Besides, wasn't it a recent purchase?

If I'm misinformed it's because I'm not switching immediately and am not 100% up to date on the facts.

edit - perhaps Verizon was what I wanted?
Cell phone trivia is not my thing :)

How far away from your home is "everywhere"?

What's shitty? The service in general? reception?

pornguy 09-04-2004 11:53 AM

We had ATT for about 6 years, ans it was very good. We had the all inclusive calling plan which alloud us to call all of the us for free.

xpensive but nice. We dropped them about 6 months ago, and at that time the service had started to slip because of the buy out.

I would ask people that you know about how the service is around where you live that is the only way to make sure you pick a good service...

AZ is our home area, but we have had shitty reception in LA, Vegas, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, etc. All while people next to us had good reception with other companies.

dodger21 09-04-2004 12:47 PM

I fucking hate sprint. They dont have GSM phones!!!!!!!!

The reception was sub-par, and I wasn't pleased with the customer service either.

Kalifornia 09-04-2004 01:40 PM

bad

Not sure about AT&T but Verizon Wireless is good. I've been using their service for a little over six months now after switching from Sprint.
