well, its because at a very young age you are told constantly by your parents and peers that there is a god. hell, you have to speak of "god" everyday in america's school system (the pledge)

"god" is just something that many people use to find a secure feeling inside, like my example before of death, illness is also a good example, it gives people something to fall back on in hard times. people are dying everyday and their family cannot afford to medicate them, so they fall back on "god" and praying. It does not do anything, but if gives the family a feeling of hope and security of their loved ones well being.


like i said before, it all comes down to comfort in life.

without comfort, many people would not know what to do, and they will go crazy because in reality, when there is nothing left to do in a bad situation, no one knows what to do, and not knowing what to do makes people feel very uncomfortable, so they resport to praying to a creation in their head.



and im sorry if my view is offending anyone, it wasnt ment to, this is just how i view life.

we are lucky to be here, there is no reason we are here besides luck of the right mixture of oxygen,H2O, and warmth.

it always surprises me when I see such passion in non-belief

it's as if you're challenging God to strike you down for saying the worst things you can think of, and really believe in your heart that there's a very slim chance that God might just get so angry he'll show himself to you by zooming a lightning bolt right on your head.

People desparately want to believe there's a God, or something higher than themselves that can control what happens.

There is such a thing.. it's called faith..

The thing about religion is, it's kind of like a necessary evil. While millions have died in the name of it, how many would have died without it? People can NOT live together peacefully, it doesn't matter if there is religion or not they will find something to argue about and kill each other over.

Religion is the best place morals can come from. There has to be a master, which dictates what is ok behavior and what is not. Without a master, incorrect and correct behavior is up for debate. Laws are NOT good masters, what do you think people will be more afraid of: going to jail for a year? or spending the rest of eternity in a burning hot place?

You can't scientifically prove to me that it's wrong to kill another person. Common sense tells most of us that it is, but common sense is something that varies widely from person to person. Also if people aren't brainwashed and controlled, the id will kick in much more than it would were they afraid of the consequences of improper behavior (i.e. going to hell).

I think that achieving true selfishness is the way to happiness
