"Garden State" Movie: Anyone see it?

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm thinking about it.

What's it about?

just saw it tonight - excellent movie if you like character studies - it's like an artsy, indie flick - so not many explosions :winkwink:

even if you don't like artsy flicks it still has
Natalie Portman

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

The commercials look good and I like indie films.

I love that guy from Scrubs. I am definitely going to see this one.

This guy is smart..not only does he make a film but he gets Natalie Portman to play his girlfriend in it...that alone would have had me spending weeks on rewrites to make sure there were about 60 minutes of love scenes out of a 90 minute flick.

I saw the trailers and thought it could be either amazingly good or heartbreakingly awful. So I hope it's the first option and not the second. In any case, it's more of a rental type movie than a theatre type, I think.

actually it played really well in the theater - I don't know if it would have as much impact as a rental. Even though it's an indie flick, it's not all just hum-drum talking - the soundtrack kicks ass and the film has a really immersive quality to it that I think you can only get on the big screen.
