The Locals eat them, i have never tired them myself. They are supposed to be cooked a certain way this time of the year or you will get real sick from eating them. I gave it to one of the guys i know down there along with a bunch of snapper since we caught so many fish that day.

you can eat the carribbean barracuda.

Dont eat the north gulf ones. they have too much mercury in their blood, for the most part.

Barracudas are EXCELLENT to eat - but you should only eat them when fished in certain areas (Like down towards the southern part of the Carribean it is ok - Venezuela etc. - NOT in the northern and western part where they feed off a poisonus algea that you dont want in your little belly)

They make the BEST "steaks" when prepared the right way.

                                Nice one!

We saw a few that we much bigger than this one swim under our boat, but this was the only one that hit my bait.
