tgpbuilders.com - where's the beef?

I'm going to start this by saying two things: In seven years of doing biz online in the adult market, I've never taken a money matter 'to the boards.' I've never had to. Shit happens - and there have been times when I've been the cause of it, but in the end, the people on both ends knew that things would be made right, and they were. I'm no longer confident of this in this case.

Times are tough, and we're one of the many who lost our merchant account in the Card Services fiasco, so I can no longer afford to let this slide.

Second - if I get my money - I'll post about that as well, and make it known. I'm not involved in any popularity contests, on the board or off, and will step up and say that I was wrong.

In February of this year, I paid 1650 dollars to Nelto (Nelson) of tgpbuilders.com to build me a 100k tgp. In the following months, the site never got up to more than 750-800 visitors a day. Pages of ICQ's about this resulted in promises that 'traffic was starting'. In EVERY case - without exception - the traffic never started. Every promised target date was missed, over a 6 month period.

At the beginning of August, I requested a refund. It took some hammering, but I finally got a reply and was told the money would be sent. At one point, I was told it had been sent, and that the wire would take up to 2 weeks to arrive. I asked for evidence of the wire, was promised I would get it the next day. It took 3 days to get a copy of the 'scan'. The scan showed an amount of 1620 dollars, and looks to be a copy of his bank statement, not the bank wire. There's no evidence from what I was sent that this amount was coming to my account.

As of this morning, I still don't have my money, and in speaking to my bank, they feel it's highly unlikely that it was actually sent based on the information provided and the time that has passed.

I have noticed in the past when someone has 'gone public' re: Nelson and tgpbuilders.com that he replies stating that the webmaster was at fault. They hadn't designed their site correctly, scripts were not installed, etc. In the case of our site, he accepted both the design and script installation in February. Our site has always been up, the scripts always worked. He simply never delivered.

These are difficult times, both for us personally, as well as for the industry as a whole. If tgpbuilders.com is, as he says, an ethical business, it's time to step up to the plate and make things right. If not, then hopefully this thread will serve as a warning to others (I noticed he just did a redesign of tgpbuilders.com).

I have copies of ICQ logs, as well as screenshots to back up my story. I have no agenda, other than a desire to not get ripped off and to get needed cash to handle obligations we have both as a business and personally.

That's a long time to wait for something to be taken care of.

fris 09-02-2004 11:46 AM

Good luck with this, Cody.

codymc12 09-02-2004 11:50 AM

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm not hopeful at this juncture - but I wanted to give him the opportunity to make it right.

You get what you pay for.
$1650 for 100k is VERY low... too good to be true IMHO.

Sux that they are being such bastards towards you though.

Primal 09-02-2004 11:54 AM

codymc12 09-02-2004 11:57 AM

Like I said earlier - I'm all about resolution of this. I'm not out to slam anyone, I don't want 'revenge'. I just want it resolved, and if it does get resolved, I'll make it known that it was.

iwantchixx 09-02-2004 11:58 AM

iwantchixx 09-02-2004 12:25 PM

it amazes me when someone pays that much for something (doesn't really matter if it was 2 or 1620) and the product or serviced is not rendered. This isn't the mickey mouse club folks. When people pay for something, DELIVER on it by the due date.

QuaWee 09-02-2004 12:30 PM

i was only kidding, good luck

The portfolio will be online pretty soo.
You will see that amoung 398 sites I have built there was 3 "mistakes"
Sotp bitching like you are doing on the other thread just for the fun of it man.

Im really sorry about this issue with cody, and we are resolving it on icq.
If you dont have anything more to do then sthining on others yeard, go work man.

Joesho 09-02-2004 12:41 PM

www.remotethumbs.com is the best route to go, take a look and see if we can help you with anything.

what does that have to do with his money?

codymc12 09-02-2004 01:51 PM

Okay, spent quite a bit of time on the ICQ with the webmaster of tgpbuilders.com. Per the info he gave me, there was a hitch with the bankwire, which I accept as possible.

He's given me an exact roadmap re: getting the funds to me. If we don't figure out something short term, per what we worked out, we should have something happening by Tuesday.

I want to close this thread on that note for now. This exists as a record of what happened. When the final outcome is resolved, I'll locate this thread and update it. That way, if I get paid, future searches against 'tgpbuilders.com' will see a thread that ended with him ethically resolving the issue. I feel this would only be fair.

I'll note that he was very courteous in his dealings, and didn't fly off the handle re: this posting on GFY. And as I said before, I'm not interested in smearing anyone, and my preference (obviously) is that it be resolved.

Thanks for the various well wishes, and also (really) thanks for not hijacking the thread, and letting it run it's course. :)

I totally do agree with you! I have paid Nelto of tgpbuilders.com $1300 in advance (the total price was $3000!) but that money is totally wasted. My site is still the same as where it was 2 months ago. I hired him to grow my site in 2 steps: 50k+ by the end of July and another 50k by the end of August, but he never even made any growth before August 27! All that he did after 2 months was feeding it for a couple of days (and denying he did so, but pretending meanwhile that he had accomplished a growth of the site with 50k! And of course the day after he stopped feeding the site dropped back to its old level. He has even threatened here on GFY to change my UCJ Password and kill my site! http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...80#post5218180

LMAO
You sure sound desperate trying to excuse your lack of word to maintain a deal.
I wilk be anwsering your comments on that other thread not here becuse this one has nothing to do with the one I started becuse of you.

As for cody, yes seems like my fuckign bank for the second tiem dont have a clue where the cash is.

When I make wire transfers in europe theres always a need for a cod e called IBAN, and seems like US doesnt deal with that code, so wire transfers can get lost with this.

Never the less, all things are settle, and cody will be paid for sure.

End of discussion here.

YFG 09-02-2004 03:32 PM

Iam happy for Cody that he will get his money finally! And Iam happy I fired you because you have wasted my money and time long enough: $1300 and 100 icq pages! And I hired you to SAVE me time! That was my biggest mistake!

I would recommend everybody to do a search on the boards for nelto and tgpbuilders before doing any business with you. Iam fulltime in this bizz for more than 4 years now but I have never met such a rude person and a pathetic liar like you are. Iam sure you will be out of this business before the end of this year, because you lie and you cheat and that will catch you in the end!

NOW its the end of the discussion here!
Enough time and money wasted on you!

Dirty D 09-02-2004 04:10 PM

Hey Cody,

Good to see you man!

Hit me up on ICQ #1326843

Tim 09-03-2004 03:48 AM

No this isn't the end. I have an interest in this which I may "take public" unless someone changes their tactics very quickly.

I have been in touch with several others in exact the same situation too.

Adult Site Traffic 09-11-2004 11:36 AM

I also bookmarked this thread when it came in so I could watch it.

9 days later.... what's the prognosis Cody?

I've been thinking about having a 100/k built for about a year because I know I don't have the time, but never really got organized to do it. Good for me. Sorry for you Cody. :(

I hope you got your money back.

AST

codymc12 09-11-2004 11:52 AM

Hi AST - how's it going?

I'll post on full resolution, for sure. As of now, I have a large portion of the refund that I'm waiting to fund from moneybookers into my bank account.

The money DID come to moneybookers, which is worth mentioning, and is to me a definate step in the right direction.

codymc12 09-11-2004 11:53 AM

Dustman - sorry, I totally missed your post the last time this thread was going. I'll try you on ICQ.

Good Cody, good to see you. I hope things are going well for you guys :)

I'm glad to hear that you're getting part of your money and I assume that means you'll get it all, and that is good news :)

I know how hard you two work to get where you've gotten :)

Were these 1 hit/day pages? 'Cause that's the only way I can imagine you building more than one site per day. You've been running tgpbuilders for less than a year, so if I were you, I'd make sure that the lies are at least plausible. Stop making a fool out of yourself, keep in mind that you're walking a VERY thin line here and once evidence will come out about your scams you will be finished in this business.
