Everyone here on the intercoastal is packing up and leaving. That way if they do evacuate, they won't be stuck in traffic.

I've been though almost every hurricane here (even andrew), and I'm not going anywhere.

Is there an evacuation order?

If you are in the wrong place yes it most certainly is. I had to evacuate once when i lived in that state.. glad we did.. a tornado came right through our property.

Same thing for Broward, Dade and Monroe after the 5PM projection.

Growing up in South Florida, you get use to hurricanes every year (about 3 or 4). I sat at home during Andrew.

The only people that get hurt are the ones who go to the beach and surf.

it's 4:30 Wednesday and so far no mandatory evacuation for Dade or Broward (Miami/Ft. Lauderdale) counties.

You obviously know nothing about hurricaines

1. They thought that Andrew would hit Palm Beach.....it ended up hitting Homestead....65 miles south

2. They thought that Charley would hit Tampa, it ended up over a 100 miles south.

3. This storm is still 36 to 48 hours away.

4. Even if it stays exactly where they think it will, the hurricaine force winds will cover all the way to 80 MILES out from the eye, and tropical force 186 miles out. This storm is bigger than the entire state.

That's pretty amazing. It went through Fla., through the gulf hit us in La, and I didn't have power for 3 or 4 days.
