just withnessed a scooter crash while driving on my bike
I was going downhill on my Yamaha FZ6 and I was beggining to enter the populated area. I drive slow on downhills, 25 mhp maybe. 30 feet ahead of me I saw 6 people standing by the side of the road with a dog on a leash. There was another small black dog playing and teasing the leashed dog (young hasky dog) and jumping all around from the sidewalk to the road. I slowed down even more.
In the same time, 2 guys, 15-16 years of age, no helmets, go by me, maybe 35mph.. Thought flashes in the same momment "look, I'm a jerk, scooter kids beat my yamaha" They drive by and go 60 feet ahead of me, and in the same time the black dog jumps on the road, right in front of their front scooter wheel, they hit the dog and the scooter starts sliding like 30 feet ahead and the 2 guys start to roll and slide on the road! I anticipated the event and start to break. The 2 guys had bad road rash on their legs, don't know where else! Luckyly no serious injuries. They both got up, the scooter wasnt starting at first but it started in the end and they drove off. I started to yell at the bitch and her kids with the dog not to play on the road! Stupid assholes! I have a dog also btw, I'm don't hate animals, it was a human error! P.S. The black dog they hit also got up and left the scene. |
Damn, fucking dogs.

Dogs are not inherently aware of the dangers posed to them by cars.

I've been riding and racing sport bikes for 10 years. These kids got what they deserved for 2 reasons.
1. They didn't have helmets 2. They didn't plan ahead and see what was coming. A smart cycler sees accidents before they happen. I'm always looking, and have been fortunate. For Americans, I recommend the Motorcycle Safety Foundations Beginner (at the least), Intermediate, and Advanced courses for all riders. (The only one I have not taken is Instructor) and the knowledge learned has saved my ass on 100 occasions. :2 cents: Bling Daddy |
Who fucking cares?

When you go fast, you must be able to look ahead and anticipate. And I do go fast.... :) The DustMax www.netace.com/vmax |

Very good story telling, nice job. I laughed at the part where you said the scooter passed you but hey, see how the story ends. |

Although I see fault with the pet owner(s), my own experience places blame elsewhere.
As a Harley 'pilot,' I know (and expect) STUPID to happen. If you're on two wheels, your head should be at least a block ahead of your bike. Personally, I think the "kiddies" had it coming and rightly deserved the new skinjob. Maybe they'll think twice next time and not run over you or me if we have a momentary lapse of awareness. And ANIMALS! They'll ALWAYS come out to you. Expect it! |
I always slow down if i see a potiential for the animals to run out onto the road. just common sense
