Lawsuit Against GFY......

I had around 3 minutes of peace to think and something popped into my head.

Say someone big.... big program, tons of posts, well known... and overall established webmaster in this biz, gets his nick stolen.

Not stolen from another GFY'er, but stolen by Lens.

If Lens were to start fucking around with the nick...
degrading the program, producing falsifications, or otherwise destroying the reputation of the program/program owner on this board, could a lawsuit be set against Lens/GFY (If it were proven of course)?

Seen a couple people throwing around the word 'lawsuit' (mostly unknown bitches) and it got me thinking.

Could it be possible to claim your nickname as intellectual property or something?

If someone stole your nick and slandered a company, or slandered a company with their own nick, I would think both would be grounds for a lawsuit.

Edit: Not against GFY however, but the person who is slandering.

We are pornographers.. not lawyers. I'd say.. like most things that deal with the law.. it all depends.

I think it's impossible... we are not lawers...

I wouldn't consider this a 'dream' and the bullshit you talk about doesn't mean shit to me.

You never take a break and let your brain wander ever once and awhile?

Why the fuck would Lens steal someone's nick?
Hypothetical questions are fine, but this just seems way out there.
If Lens had something to say against another program, I think he'd be better served using his OWN nick in the first place, so the question is moot in the first place.

Oh, I think of plenty of stupid shit in my head all the time, as I'm sure everyone else here does.
Difference is - I don't post it. :1orglaugh

Did I say Lens would steal a nick?
I might have been drunk when I posted this, but I have no recollection of ever saying that Lens would steal someone's nick. It was a simple example.

The whole reason it is called a hypothetical question (like you mentioned) is because it is hypothetical....

Hypothetic \Hy`po*thet"ic\, Hypothetical \Hy`po*thet"ic*al\, a. [L. hypotheticus, Gr. ?: cf. F. hypoth['e]tique.]
Characterized by, or of the nature of, an hypothesis; conditional; assumed without proof
