Anyone in the Tampa/Clearwater area?
Or familiar with it? We are heading to Orlando in a few weeks and I thought we would drive over that way to do some sight seeing. I've never seen the Gulf before and would love to see a sunset there. Looking for maybe a cool pier, short boat trip, touristy shops, artsy fartsy things. We don't party so we could care less about bars. No kids either. Any suggestions for a tourist?

Wow, nice pic! I'll probably fill all of my cards while I'm there. Need to bring my card reader to upload them to the laptop for extra storage. I know I'll fall in love with that place and want to move! Wonder what you have to go through to get your realtors license in Florida when you already have one in another state, hmmm...hehe.

Looking around all the websites for Clearwater and Tampa, I think I'm ready to move there! Looks amazing!

The beaches are real nice in the south of the county, too, like Pass-A-Grille beach on the end of St. Pete beach, and down at Ft. Desoto park is really nice.

Seriously, I think you guys should have a Tampa webmaster get together while I'm in town. Then I can meet everyone and sip something tropical while vacationing at the beach. Ahhhhh vacation. 3 more weeks!

How many companies are located in Tampa? Seems like there are quite a few.

If you go a little further south of Tampa to Sarasota you see great beaches and they have more "culture" type stuff.

I clicked on this site, forgot I had my speakers turned up and it scared the shit out of me haha www.sarasotajunglegardens.com This place sounds kind cool: Myakka Wildlife Tours / Myakka River State Park "Sight-seeing tours by boat and tram in Myakka River State Park. On the narrated tours you will be briefed on the ecology of the area and the interesting features of its many inhabitants including alligators, bald eagles, sandhill cranes, ibis, egrets, deer, wild turkey, bobcats and many other animals and birds. " |
Jungle Gardens is kind fo small. Kind of like an old time zoo. Myakka cool because you can see live gators in the wild and I mean up close! Ringling Museum of Art is cool if you like art. former home of John Ringling of Ringling Bros Circus.
