i do admit this though, out of all the semi-overpriced brands, sony is the best to go with

The only problem is that this machine will uose only Sony RAM (Kingstone are great)! Centrino is the best mobile cpu! The price is low, so make money with it! :thumbsup

I'll bet it cost more, though...

hova 08-30-2004 11:42 PM

I love vaios, but they are expensive

Babagirls 08-30-2004 11:58 PM

you over paid by about $700. :2 cents:

Kimmykim 08-31-2004 12:00 AM

Vaio's totally rock. I'm on my third 505 and have a VX89 that I used before this one stuck around here somewhere. Even after it took a beer to the keyboard it still worked perfectly if you hooked up a keyboard to it lol ;)

AVM 08-31-2004 12:23 AM

I'm not the biggest Computer enthusiast, I mean whatever gets me online is fine. So I may be wrong, but isn't 1.5 GHZ slow by todays standard? I figured all desktops/laptops come standard 2.4+ nowadays, especially when you spend nearly $2k?

Anyway, congrats KMR on the purchase. :thumbsup

xalthus 08-31-2004 01:06 AM

oh gawd.. I just bought a 2.6ghz Toshiba laptop for 800 bux!! haha

EviLGuY 08-31-2004 01:13 AM

I had a VAIO a few years ago. Got a bunch of dead pixels within like a week of me buying it so I took it back.

Love that 14 day no questions asked return policy.

Manowar 08-31-2004 01:45 AM

nice choice :thumbsup

MrJackMeHoff 08-31-2004 01:49 AM

I bought a toshiba (two laptops ago) like 2 years ago it was a 2.0 Gig P4 and I paid barely a little more than that and it was a 16.5" screen and just basically way better equiped. . WTF were you thinking?

Andy 08-31-2004 02:14 AM

seems like you guys don't know the new intel CENTRINO
everyone just sees 1.5Ghz .. but hey it's almost equal to P4 2.5Ghz. I got one this month and all I can say Centrino rox ! It can run about 4.5-5 hours on batteries when you're working on it. (not 100% usage of course). So I think it's veeery great baby !

Andy 08-31-2004 02:16 AM

however $1.999 is still a bit pricey
I bought my for 1200 Euros with same parameters .. well just HD is smaller .. maybe that's the cause

Still slow. They use less power they are not equiv to a 2.5 thats BS.

Andy 08-31-2004 02:23 AM

almost equal
yeah they use a lot less power and the performance is awesome. Hell do you need your laptop to be a superfast shit or you want it to keep running longer ... i think this is why you buy laptop. Cause you want it to be able to run for some time on batteries.

fuzebox 08-31-2004 02:28 AM

I'll be picking up a Sony S-170 asap.

Battery draining back breaking powerhouse laptops are stupid... Sony compacts rock :thumbsup

Kicker 08-31-2004 03:12 AM

Tricksy 08-31-2004 06:01 AM

johnbosh 08-31-2004 06:03 AM

Flashasianxxxoutsourcing 08-31-2004 07:54 AM

TheWildcard 08-31-2004 07:56 AM

nice but I hate laptops

kowntafit 08-31-2004 08:11 AM

Enjoy your purchase.
