Interesting comparsion
Bill Gates recently compared the software market with the soft
drink market. He says Microsoft is struggling to survive but that the beverage giant will be on top forever because the Department of Justice doesn't pick on them. Of course, Bill should be careful not to give Coke any ideas. We might end up with a scenario like the following: Joe: (walking into McDonalds) Hi, I'd like a Big Mac. Cashier: Okay, here's your Big Mac and here's your Coke. That'll be $3.99. Joe: Uh, I don't want a Coke. Cashier: Sorry, they're bundled. Joe: What? I'm not paying for a Coke! Cashier: You don't; the Coke is free. Joe: But wasn't a Big Mac $2.49 last week? Cashier: Sure, but this latest Big Mac is far more innovative. It's got integrated Coke! Joe: I already bought a Snapple across the street... I'm not going to drink the Coke. Cashier: Then you can't have the burger. Joe: Okay, fine, I will pay the $3.99 and throw the Coke away. Cashier: Oh, you can't do that. They're seamlessly integrated. Totally inseparable. Joe: How can that be? They're two totally separate things?! Cashier: No, watch. (takes Big Mac, dunks it in a tank of Coke) See? Joe: Why did you just do that?! Cashier: It's a benefit to the consumer. Otherwise you'd end up with two different, inconsistent tastes. This way you're assured of a continuous taste across all your foods |
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA... that's funny...
I really liked the comparison. But wtf, M$ is struggling to survive ? Don't think so... gosh, at least he admitted that Linux is a real danger for them on the server market. Bill G. GFY ! |
thats a good one
there is one like that with micro vs auto industry bill goes something like "if the automobile industry grew as technically rapid as the computer industry we'd be getting 200 miles per gallon" then mr car guy goes "true, but who would want a car that crashed 3 times a day" heh |
nice post Bake.
B.GATES GFY! by the way, when i was a littleee boy, I had him as a kind of hero, guru-hero....back in 1987 when Ms-dos 3.30 was the ultimate O.S. and Prince of Persia the ultimate game ;-) |
OH SHIT! Both of those are pretty damn funny! http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif

Here's the full joke about the auto industry vs. Microshaft for those that haven't read it before:
At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving twenty-five dollar cars that got 1000 mi/gal." Recently General Motors addressed this comment by releasing the statement, "Yes, but would you want your car to crash twice a day?" And... 1. Every time they repainted the lines on the road you would have to buy a new car. 2. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason, and you would just accept this, restart and drive on. 3. Occasionally, executing a maneuver would cause your car to stop and fail and you would have to re-install the engine. For some strange reason, you would accept this too. 4. You could only have one person in the car at a time, unless you bought "Car95" or "CarNT". But, then you would have to buy more seats. 5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast, twice as easy to drive, but would only run on five percent of the roads. 6. The Macintosh car owners would get expensive Microsoft upgrades to their cars, which would make their cars run much slower. 7. The oil, gas and alternator warning lights would be replaced by a single "general car default" warning light. 8. New seats would force everyone to have the same size butt. 9. The airbag system would say, "Are you sure?" before going off. Sad but true. |
I just can't understand why u are so STRANGE ?

I personally like most of Microsoft's products. I wouldn't consider using anything but Word and Excel at work for word processing and spreadsheets.
I just thought the jokes were kinda funny. :^) |

It's fashionable to bash MS. Funny the pro-mac slant on some of these jokes - obviously these people have never had Win2k and MacOS 9 side by side.. I have, MacOS is a piece of crap, and whoever thought it was intuitive seems to have forgotten about the bomb icon and "error -1!"
MacOS X is the first decent Mac OS, and that's because it's simply BSD with a Mac GUI. Macs are a joke. There's nothing a Mac can do that a PC can't do better. Nothing. Cheers, Backov ------------------ AVSBlitz - Build AVS Sites Faster and Better |
I run the OSs mentioned here and IMHO, Windows 2000 is the best OS currently marketed to the end user. It's smart, fast and easy to repair (which is my main concern).
However, it all depends upon your needs and skill level. I was trained as a graphic artist over the last few years and there is a contingent of mac enthusiasts, the publishing sector, with an deep-seeded hatred for Windows if for no other reason than they are THE company. Everyone loves the underdog, right? But the Mac OS has gotten complacent, opting for unnecessarily bloated interfaces and little added functionality (sounds like Netscape, doesn't it?). Sure it beat the pants off Windows half a dozen years ago but Win95 changed everything. Is the Mac OS more stable? Yes, if you have everything configured correctly. Is it my OS of choice? Only when I'm scanning and publishing large documents for print. The rest of the time I dual boot between Win98 and 2000. Windows is a beatiful thing. I started learning this stuff back in the early 1980s using a TRS-80 and the GUI is a welcome addition to the PC, BSODs and all. So, as I continue down the path toward my MCSE(Microsoft Certified Shutdown Engineer), I make fun of MS. In truth, I would sorely miss them if they weren't on the scene (and my pocket book would be much thinner). ------------------ "Jack of all trades, master of some." Atari vs. PS2 ATARI hands down! :-) |
Keev, hear hear! Some of my best nights as a teen were spent getting drunk and playing combat out on the back porch. Long live the 2600!
