Getting a tattoo is very short-sighted, IMO. Piercings can close, a tattoo is a permanent and noticeable scar that you will be forced to live with for the rest of your life.

I've had my ear and eyebrow pierced, neither of which I still wear. If you're right in my face you can notice the remnants of a piercing, but otherwise it's like they never happened.
