Props to Split Infinity

Over the weekend I was launching something, needed an automated set up, didnt feel like getting on icq and haggling with some rep trying to make money off me etc... simply wanted to pick a package, click buy, have my account set up and wait for DNS.

well I went with Split Infinity after looking at a few.

I want to give them major props.

While other companies want you to email them and wait days for a reply etc.... on a Saturday i bought hosting, and had the site up and hosted before Sunday night.

I was able to buy hosting, switch nameservers, and even create and delete mysql databases during script installations etc...

all of this without talking to anyone.

site is loading fast and fine, and I just wanted to give them props for doing what i wanted.

a simple automated sign up process with giving me complete control and access after just a few hours.

no phone call, no icq, no email. in the thread i started on this, people were saying i was asking too much...

http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...hreadid=347954

no, I want what should be offered. I got my site launched without having to talk to sales reps or email anyone. take my money and give me my fucking ftp thats all i needed...

slide credit card and insert creativity.

good job folks

Split Infinity is always awsome!
Awsome guys, always willing to help out.

Fletch XXX 08-30-2004 11:34 AM

Service is what counts.

people can kiss peoples ass on the board and jump on icq to strike a deal and then want you to start a thread about it.

I started this thread on my own and with simply having good service.

No one *cut me a deal* i didnt expect better treatment.

this says alot to me and should others.

this is the kind of service webmasters need. take my money and set it up.

I want to be able to come up with a project and have it up ASAP, i dont need help or any bullshit emails or icq. i know there is fraud, but some of us want a little more... and its not about *cheap deal* either. Split Infinity was a little mor than the others I was looking at, but I went with them.

keep up the good work.

yeah... ive been with Webair for over 3 years with dedicated server etc... i had heard of them (Split Infinity) but never used them.

if i used all the hosts that i know the name of i dont think i could afford a server with each hahaha

Doctor Dre 08-30-2004 11:44 AM

They have been arround for years now ... they aiin't no joke :P

SplitInfinity 08-30-2004 11:46 AM

The funny thing about all of this is that for a long time EVERYONE I dealt with
tried to steer me away from automating things saying people want people, not programs to deal with them.

I got into fights with our old CFO about this and she did not want us to go automated for signups and billing. Well, as the world turns, I did it anyways
and it boosted our sales by 90%!

Were getting positive feedback from all over the world, customers like the self-service convienience with the backup support of real people who are willing to help. We have always been willing to help, this is only an addition to that.

Whatever we can do to make things better for our customers will be done.

prodiac 08-30-2004 11:55 AM

Automating signups has been one of the best things we have ever done. Thanks for the props!

two major things i look for in a host are automation and service

signing up and having it all automated is the best thing in the world...i hate fucking waiting

Shit, how did I miss this all these years? My old mainstream host was automated and it was the best thing in the world for those projects you think up and want to get started on before you get busy with something else.

I'll definately be running some business through you even if for your small accounts.

Great service.

fuzebox 08-31-2004 03:57 PM

And yes, Splitinfinity rocks :thumbsup I'm very happy with the server I've got with them, and was even more impressed with the level of service. "Other hosts" can act like they actually don't want your business when you call them up.

SplitInfinity 08-31-2004 04:05 PM

Thanks again for the props!

hahah I love that penguin too, I am glad the penguin is GPL'd so were allowed to use it as much as we want.

Were linux nuts. Free BSD nuts and etc. :-)

(I personally love linux over FreeBSD, but my techs may argue that on me)

:thumbsup for the referrals!

You should use your affiliate link with everyone you refer.
Signing up on our automated system automatically makes you an affiliate
as well.... If people use your link to signup, you get a % of their montly recurring bill with us!

I'm inviting everyone to signup for dedicated or virtual hosting using our automated system so they can also earn hosting credit in return for referrals.

Your hosting could be free with the amount of referrals you are bringing up!

Can't view the index page in Opera. Can view some of the others though. Needs fixin!!

On my list now for my next server. Bunch of companies lost out when I bought my last one because they forced me to call/email and then wait.

May sound simple to you, but automated signup for hosting companies can be very costly. They have to weed out the suspicious orders.

neewwman 09-04-2004 08:23 PM

I must say I am shocked to see people saying that Splitinfinity has good customer service. I experienced by far the worst customer service with them of any company in any trade or field I have ever dealt with, but maybe they've changed in the last couple of years.

neewwman 09-04-2004 08:46 PM

I thought I should probably back up what I said.

My last really bad experience with Splitinfinity was in 2000/2001. Chris agreed to port over some top lists to Splitinfinity's proprietary top list software. Here are some excerpts from emails:

December 1, 2000: "Chris, I'm begging you . . . PLEASE return my phone calls and e-mails. PLEASE do whatever you can to get the accounts on my top lists set up. . . . I'll pay you a $500 bonus if you can get the sites running and all accounts set up by the end of Saturday. $400 by the end of Sunday." [Job was not completed for until almost a MONTH later.]

March 6, 2001: "I've written about this . . . problem many, many times and never received any response or any action."

Feb 1, 2001: "The signup on disapproved100.com does not work. I wrote to you about this on January 18. PLEASE HELP!"

Feb 4, 2001: "Chris: Here is another e-mail for you to ignore. I have been asking for MONTHS to please fix disapproved100.com so it doesn't display sites with zero hits. I have been asking for WEEKS to please fix disapproved100.com so that the webmaster sign-up works. Can you please help me?"

neewwman 09-04-2004 08:48 PM

The last straw was when I discovered that they were charging me -- who had been a customer for years -- far more than they charged new customers. When they lowered their rates they didn't have the decency to lower mine.

SplitInfinity 09-05-2004 10:51 AM

neewwman, sorry for your experience, however that was years ago and
we are an entirely different company today. We had learned over the years
better ways to conduct business and etc.

The problem you talk about with rates and etc.... I have no excuses however
our new rates had just gone into effect. We had not had the time to re-structure
everything yet.

You had these problems because we grew too fast. Back in the days, it was hard to deal with growth without enough staff memebers. The world is entirely different today.

I hope that some day you give us the chance to show you the great service we offer in this decade. :-)

Have a great day!
