Canadians - highest 5 year GIC rates?
the best i can currently find is Cataract Savings & CU (nice name lol) at 4.35% in it's final year.
pretty pathetic... http://www.moneysense.ca/rates/gic_l...able/index.jsp |
Wow, one of the smaller firms is located like down the street from me and offers more than double that of my current bank (RBC). Waterloo Regional Credit Union doesn't sound so bad. Anyone have experience with smaller CU's like this? Do these investments fall under the FDIC protection or are they not covered?

Check out ING Direct, I've found their rates better than most banks because they don't have to set up physical locations all over.
