The GOP convention begins today
 

...do you think the President will get a jump in the polls when the convention is over? Senator Kerry didn't get much of a jump...if any...when the norm is around 7-8 points and has been as high as 15 points.

Does anyone have some input about this?

I predict he will be a bumbling idiot the first time her stops reading the script. could go either way for him in the polls.

Let's talk about how much this convention, and the DNC costed us ::cough:: tax payers, for something the majority of Americans don't watch, or eternally more damning, don't give a flying fuck about...

Personally I think he will get a bump, although it wont be huge. I think the biggest thing is a lot of people will see how the news is so slanted about shit.

For example at the DNC protesters couldn't get close to the convention, where at the RNC they are right out in front. I think people are going to get sick of all the bullshit, and I for one am ready for the election to be over. I am getting tired of all the bullshit comments from both camps, and I am ready to vote for who I believe is the best candidate. I have had my mind made up for (edit: months). I think everyone should vote and should look at both candidates voting records and what those records might mean to their vote and that person being elected president.

Anyone watching the convention today?

I was halfway listening on CSPAN earlier. Is the convention on break? They've cut away from it for Washington Journal.

I just fucking hope Bush don't get re-elected

At this point...I think he will be...but things could happen over the next couple of months...for the better or for the worse...that may alter my thinking.

I'll be watching it occasionally...but I usually watch both conventions every election year, it's good to hear the different pieces of bullshit they all sling...
