Probably not. It's too expensive and there aren't enough available electoral votes to actually get a winner. Most third party candidates simply hurt the weaker of the two party candidates.
By weaker I don't mean worse, I just mean less well funded. |
No shit. Although I think it would be very difficult to find a presidential candidate who could really make choices that were best for the majority(poor) instead of thinking about all the people close to his heart(the rich fellas that funded his campaign).
Clinton was a very good president in my opinion w/ or w/o the bj. |
fear. the anti bush links on the front page :winkwink:

I don't understand why there are only 2 parties in the US ... there are WAY more then that in canada

Does anyone remember that Simpsons episode when the Aliens took over the bodies of Bill Clinton and Bob Dole.
Homer tears off their masks to reveal their true identity and says: "America, take a good look at your beloved candidates. They're nothing but space reptiles!" Kang and Kodos point out that it's a two party syste; the people must vote for one of them. Some guy in the crowd jumps up and says: "Well, i believe i'll vote for a third-party candidate!" Kang & Kodos laugh and say: "Go ahead. Throw your vote away." Kodos wins the election and the human race is enslaved by Aliens. Classic. And it rings very true! |
