Webmasters North of Palm Beach County

Looks like South Florida will get some of it but you guys North of us will get the direct hit. And they are expecting it to go to Cat 5 which means widespread destruction.

You might want to have an alternate plan in place Kimmy. There will probably be a lot of cancellations ahead of that storm beginning Thursday.

In truth, nothing would make me happier than to not have to do it that day, since I'm going to be in Phoenix on Wednesday and then head back to LA on Thursday night.

Then I'm going to sleep all day on Friday ;)

Palm Beach County hasn't been hit direct since 1928. So we've been lucky for 76 years.

Consider also Florida has 400 miles of coast on the east side and 800 miles on the Gulf side.

The real devastation of a major hurricane is usually about 40 miles wide path at most.

So on the east side you've got a 1 in 10 chance of a hit and on the west side 1 in 20 and combined a 1 in 30.

So the odds are actually pretty small of really getting nailed hard.

The one in 1928 that hit here direct in PBC killed 1,800 people who died because of the massive flooding it caused.

yea but at the angle that thing is traveling where the hell do you go.. only option is to either head south or hit the west coast and hope it doesn't change direction.

Shit the last storm I could feel the entire building moving in the wind (3 story apt building) So I know damn well I'm not sticking around for a full head on hit no doubt about that.

At least you get a warning ahead of time with hurricanes. Tornados and earthquakes don't let you they are coming a week ahead.
