I think you missed a big part of what the show was trying to show. Yes having a healthy sexual release is good but these men went beyond that. They let the porn over take them and control their life. It started to effect their lives. Causing them to loose jobs, negelect their children, some started getting into kiddie porn(and come on how is that healthy or normal)

Looks of people over there blaming porn when they should be blaming themselves and taking responsibility for their own actions.

That's the NEW American Way.

Kirstinejeffers Re: Internet Porn

"Last week I caught my husband in internet porn - for the third time in the last 13 years. We have 2 kids (7 & 4), both girls, and the first time I was 3 mo. pregnant with our first. No one can tell me it's not cheating on a spouse. I could easily be one of the women interviewed for this story.

There is no hope in porn, there is no release from its clutches, there is no "innocent" party - there is only filth, degredation, humiliation and shame. I deserve better. My girls deserve better."

Never expect anything good to come from these programs, they will sensationalise and defame us. It's called the ratings game.

The main guy they interviewed in the story with an "addiction" tours the country doing seminars to "help others", so the whole story was pretty good PR for the guy.

It is time for some of these ugly old bitches to stop blaming their marital problems on everyone but themselves. :2 cents:

I want to add to our tours --

"As seen on 20/20, this site is one of the 'most addicting' sites on the web!"

"As for facial being common I find it degrading. I am a mother not a prositute. And I plan to be open with my children they will learn to respect women, and that sex is a special thing not a cheap thrill."

And you wonder why your husband has to look at porn to get off.

The problem is here is that certain people just shut down sexually after getting married and having children. I'm not saying a facial is something every woman enjoys, but I'm also guessing this woman never sends the kids to a baby sitter and cooks dinner for her husband in a french maid costume....

The whole profit concept of TV is based on thrusting heads in front of screens. Sensationalism or anything remotely "seedy" or "voyeur" will do that.. "Porn addication" is such a subject :-)

The US is a society which is being told each day they need pills for this and pills for that - all in the interests of their welfare and health of course :-)

There are "experts" on every damned subject from depression to foot massage (even "internet gurus"!) who make a business out of this. Many are genuine and have a valid service to offer - others just have their own "philosophy" and assume they are helping others - tho maybe often with good intentions.

Some people clearly do have an obsessive interest in sex - same with anything - alchol, gambling and the other "acknowledged vices".

Can you "blame" the adult or gaming businesses for this? Doubt it. If so, we can blame General Motors for making cars which were responsible for 1000's of road deaths etc...

There are people with flaws (ain't we all got them?) who don't have a "balance" nor the capability of making reasonable judgement. I believe this stems from certain cultures - ie those you accept that others are responsible for them and their well-being. Also cultures that have been "pandered to" and want for little - "my big toe hurts - you know a specialist?".

We also have folks being "taught" to behave in certain ways - like taking pills via media and other more subtle means - it's part of the culture thing again - to the extent that eg the US is one massive drug cocktail that rarely does little of any good for the people buying all this shit. (As an aside, a test on river water shows fish high on prozac and infertile cause of exposure to birth control pills - at the same time, they got plenty Viagra in the water! Nice cocktail! Also shows how abused the "drug market" is.)

Apart from commercial operations who "know" their products are killing/harming people (cigarette companies etc) - you can't "blame" the industry for the conduct of those who use it's services.

I'd rather see people being fed daily and having a roof over their heads, than some pandering to crap such as "sex addiction". There is plenty of the former to keep folks busy on more constructive stuff.

Common sense seems to be thrown out the window.

Whether porn is harmful to people or not really doesn't matter.
Lots of things are harmful to people that are still legal. Tobacco, Alcohol, Fast Food, Internal combustion engines etc etc ad infinitum.

Bottom line is that adult erotica is protected speech and if you don't like it, there's nobody out there forcing you to look at it.

If you're pissed off that your husband is looking at it.....well if it weren't for internet porn he'd probably be downtown picking up a hooker.

Here is my story I am a recovering porn addict. When I first bought a computer I told my wife that I was using it to play video games, but what I really intended to do was to look at porn. While my wife was at work I would look at porn all day. I would not even go outside or would not even get out of my chair to fix myself a sandwich. My goal was to be the first person to view every pornographic picture on the internet.

So a few years went by and I kept seeing the same pics and I was thinking maybe I have accomplished my mission. I saw the same poses and the same girls and same scans. I was on AOL and was on MM's and I got all the latests gif's and jpg's.

I constantly lied to my wife and told her the reason I was online all day was because I was reading the news. Little did she know I was looking at porn all day behind her back just like the people in the segment.

Things got worse real quick. My credit card bills started pilling up with porn site membership charges. I was paying over $5000 a month for porn memberships. I had to start selling family belongs to pay for my addiction. I was frequently at pawn shops and flea markets to get money for my addiction. I even had to sell the family dog =(

Anyways the way I cured my addiction was instead of loooking at porn all day everyday.. I started ordering female escorts once a week. Now I do not have to waste my whole day like a mindless zombie gazing at porn. I just call up a local escort service and have a girl get naked in front of me (talk about HIGH RESOLUTION).

Now instead of having to lie to my wife on a daily basis, I just have to lie once a week =)

Sounds like the guy has one of these "jugdement" and "balance" problems again! :-)

Who the fuck would want to have this "goal" - "My goal was to be the first person to view every pornographic picture on the internet."?? Duh?

There is some underlying "flaw" somewhere - either in his makeup or in his relationship with his wife. From what he says, sounds more like an inherent problem with him - "have a girl get naked in front of me (talk about HIGH RESOLUTION)". Big deal!

It appears he bought a computer for little other than watch porn. Oh hell.. better sue IBM or Dell! :-)

PS Don't mean to sound cynical about this person - we all got problems of some kind or other! :-)

SleazyDream 08-29-2004 04:02 PM

i read some of it - and the thing that struck me is i could replace the word 'porn' with the word 'religion' and read it all almost exactly the same way.

IM sorry, but regular porn and CP have nothing to do with one another. You either have that desire in you, or you dont.

Agreed! I saw the show and I couldn't believe the pitiful fucks (both male and female) blaming all their problems on porn.

Yeah, as long as they left Jordan & Tawnee up on the screen, I'm sure you picked up a few sales. :thumbsup Congrats!
