What would you do if your Host..
 

What would you do if your Host Company wasn't replying to some questions you have ?
I have emailed them twice about a new domain I bought and want them to host it, but sofar no reply in 72hours ( yes it may be a simple silly question but their FAQ section is also under construction, so that's no help)
They are cheap etc.. but some support would be nice..is that too much to ask?
Can anyone suggest an good Host price is VERY importent at this time..

If price is important then check out Vector Force. You only pay for what you use, there are no fixed monthly charges.

I use them for tgp, avs and free sites. A lot of other people on this board use them too... top notch tech support and some nice features that other hosts don't have (script rental, etc). Best thing is, they do exactly what they say on the tin. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif

Gem....... don't go slammin on my company there babe.... LOL I work for Vector and have been for a couple of months and have been hosted on Vector for over 6 months and have been down one time for 10 minutes when he upgraded, and got an email from him on that intended downtime.

The $3.80 a gb looks like alot until you go looking at others who charge you a set amount and you get one popmail.... blah blah blah.... BUT

You pay x amount for a flat plan and you don't use all the GB your plan gives you, do they allow you to pay less? I don't think so........ at Vector, you pay ONLY for what you use and the tech and webmaster support is unbeatable and unmatched by anyone else.

I say if you are not getting good tech support or ANY tech support, it is definitely time to look for another host.

What I look for in a host is, in this order

1)Obtainable support.. if it is good and if they are prompt.
2)Uptime..... how is the uptime? If it isn't good then you are getting ripped off.
3)Speed...... speed is a major issue but still comes 3rd with me because if the support and the uptime aren't good then I never make it as far as speed. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif

If the three of these things are not good then look for someone else.

you have to balance the issues of costs and profits. If you cant convert your galleries quite well a high cost/gb might kill you. At least for that I sould suggest you stuck with a quality freehosting: www.thunderfree.com
If you do really well with TGPs then go for paid hosting.Check how many Gbs you burn/gallery and do the calculation. Then based on the cost check the available solutions trying to keep with fast but and a good price also.
