Nice! I love the big block fords! uNF!

lb_vee 08-27-2004 08:54 PM

Turbocharged, 290 at wheels, but will be about 380 in a week or so.

Plan9 08-27-2004 08:56 PM

Its Nitrous. As in Nitrous Oxide.
NOS Is a company that manufactures the systems.

And to answer your question I have a Twin Turbo RX7 with a couple small mods. Running 10psi of boost Its probably putting down about 260rwhp

shermo 08-27-2004 08:56 PM

I'll be adding superchanger to my 350.. That'll put it at 400. It's currently at 287.

Vitasoy 08-27-2004 08:58 PM

Nos would be the cheapst route to go for fast gains. :)

Jeez, must have really cranked up the boost on that thing to be putting down 349rwhp with the stock turbo

Samantha_Luvcox 08-27-2004 09:26 PM

383 stroker motor with a 671 blower and twin holly 750's That's how I met my husband.. :) Still have the truck but it's in 1000 parts right now wating to be rebuilt. Blowers are great, have a wonderful sound and make a true statement...

I believe it was 10 lbs boost. it needs a new fuel pump and the intercooler has a flaw in it, hes going for 400 rwhp in the next month or so. And its not completely stock, but he has less than 3k in the whole thing.

heres a clip of him burning it out I made for him.

A friend of mine built a 95 mustang gt. stroked his 302 v8 to a 331ci all forged shortblock, threw some 310cfm brodix heads on top breathing through a holly systemax highflow and ported intake. Then he slaped a T-68 turbo on the mother fucker. Its pushing 800 horsepower...

let me find a picture of it...

Its not really about that with most car guys. anyone with money can buy a car that goes fast. very few could build one themselves. but I see your point. Most people who are into modding their cars do it as a hobby and enjoy it not because their trying to show off their money or be flashy.

That was a pretty ignorant statement, no? Or were you kidding?

My car is supercharged but it's a big POS and pretty slow.

the fun part about tuning a car is doing the research, buy parts, install, and watching a the change happen. a lot of people that supercharge cars can go out and buy a fancy car with the HP already there but thats no fun. look at the money and time that goes into tuning a car

I'd hope he got a new clutch, driveshaft, suspension, and tires as well. 800+hp on a mustang GT? Nothing on that car is built to handle that much power.

While I don't doubt a GT with a T68 could be hitting 800hp at the engine, the real question is what's it putting to the ground? There's no point to all that power if you can't get it to the wheels effectively.

the last dyno tune registeres 827 at the rear wheels at 8psi....the motor is capable of 28 psi...

TurboTrucker 08-27-2004 11:03 PM

A 330 ci engine pushing 800 rwhp at 8psi sounds a little fishy.

lol....

331 cubic inch dartblock
lightweight forged je full rotating assembly
brodix heads rated at 310cfm from the box now with a full cnc portjob and polish
holly systemax upper and lower intake fully ported
brand new fuel system from fuel tank and fuel lines to pump and injectors...50# i believe could be a bit bigger.
t-68 turbo from innovative, with 3 core intercooler.

you should put clear tail lights and a wing. you will be well over 1k hp rear wheel.

lol i like your thinking....kinda like how the eiback springs sticker adds 15 horses when its not even representing a go fast goodie...or the 15 foot wing applying downforce to the rear wheels of a front wheel drive car....

ricers rock! Always entertainment...:thumbsup

yes, or the wings mounted on the trunk of a car where, if it actually achieved the neccesary speed to put downforce on the rear of the car, would more than likely rip the trunk right off :1orglaugh

heh....great shit...

TurboTrucker 08-27-2004 11:45 PM

I can see it at 15-20 psi but not 8. 8 is only 60% increase over NA

Agreed, most people do that on the common upgraded-but-still-stock-housing turbos...

Most I've seen on a stock-turbo'd mkiii with no nitrous was like 310 rwhp, although 400 ft/lbs of torque.

The fastest and most expensive "bad ass cars" are lucky to crack 11s in the quarter. No matter how much money you dump on the highest end exotic, if you're bent on keeping it stock the kid down the street with 5 grand into his Eclipse will hand your ass to you.

hahaha, thanks for the laugh. I always love the mustange mentality of double the actual number.

I dont have any NOS parts (New Old Stock) but thats cause my car is still new enough that it doesnt need them.

I had a NX Nitrous kit on my 96 Camaro though, did something wrong after about 15 passes and managed to break a couple rockers, bend push rods, and bend valves.

Roots Supercharger is by far the best raw horsepower with ratio. 14-71 Roots Charger seen in Top Fuel and Funny Car racing. Screw superchargers seen by Whipple and PSI are very powerful but very costly and very bulky. However the centrifugal superchargers on regular street cars is the best way for safe horsepower it also fits under the hood nicely and you can get that sleeper thing going on. NOS is a poormans way to get some cheap horsepower while detonating your piston heads in a real hurry. Vrooom. I love the smell on Nitro in the morning dad. :thumbsup

The gig with NOS , if you do not do it all 110% right you will fuck the motor .
for every day street use blower all the way . All it takes is to have to much bottel presure or not enough fuel presure and you will fry the motor with out a dout :2 cents: :2 cents:
