Anyone changed DNS recently? How long did it take?

my newest domain i just got took over 2 days to take effect...i was hella pissed...

As someone that does contracting, it can't take up to 24hr's for the DNS to propigate around the world.

30 hours :thumbsup

2 to 3 days

and it depends on who is running the dns too.

namecheap = 12 hours

bulkregister is the domain company

I've experienced from 5 hours to 72+ hours :2 cents:

My domains usually start working again within a day.. might just be my ISP though.

Takes up to 2 days ... depends how fast the ISPS pickup the new dns .

I don't think the registar can do anything about it

It depends on the TTL (time to live) of the dns server. The one I run on my own box is set to 24 hours, but I can change to 10 minutes if Im doing a major dns change.

changed the dns last night around 9 PM.. and its live right now at 7:30 PM

last change i made took about 18 hours or so

4-8 hours I use register.com for dns, that way I don't have to deal with it:thumbsup
