Sucks, I went to Ole Miss for 2 years, living 2 miles from campus now...

Sad ... i wonder how the fire started :P

Alford said the house had undergone a routine fire inspection Aug. 17 that found problems including a lack of fire extinguishers in the kitchen area, paint stored in the basement and doors blocked with mattresses. Alford said no citation was issued to the fraternity.

A lot of my friends go to Ole Miss, Im from the area but I go to St. Louis University now.

That does suck big time.

The news channel had footage of all the Frat and Sorority houses, they all looked like mansions.

Man that sucks. Back in (oops)86 when I was in college there was a fire in our dorm on our floor (6). Caused by a guy running a computer on a homemade extension cord. Not even sure what kinda computer it was. At that time I was taking my first course (BASIC) :1orglaugh Anyway everyone got outsafely, but it was hell. Everyone on that floor lost everything.

They also said everything that could be fixed was fixed, and that there was an appointment at 7am this morning for contractors to come in to fix that stuff that couldnt be fixed by just anyone. The doors blocked with matresses and paint stored in basement was taken care of.

Hey are there any good schools in Miss that are in distance of Memphis? Reason I asked is for a friend who is thiking of moving around that area...:helpme

The ONLY good school in that whole area is Vanderbilt in Nashville.

I really feel for the brothers on this one - it really sucks going through a fire, losing some of your brothers, and all the personal property you hold dear (including your class notes, papers, etc.) Something like that is really stressful.
