I was actually planning on taking a few days vacation in South Beach next week but I'm getting a little tired of these hurricanes. Every time I go to Florida, a hurricane follows me.

shit.... we already got it once here in key west this season.....here comes another.
|
dudes i have a solution lets do a party and invite all webmasters and you shall see the fucking storm miss just like it did on internext. the gods hate us but we are stronger....
or drunker:thefinger :eek7 |
Please post signs on the beach telling this one to turn around and go back. We are still trying to clean up from the last one here in Central FL. This would be really bad if this one came through so soon. Still have lots of damage and people without homes and power around me.

What do you do during hurricanes? do you leave town, or stay home?
or do you have reinforced safe rooms in your house or something? Ive never been in one, or a tornado. I would fucking freak if that was happening to me. |

clickhappy: The smart people near the ocean (or gulf) leave. Normally by the time the storms get to us here in Central FL the storms are weaker with winds under 100mph. With Hurricane Charley this was not the case as sustained winds in my area exceeded 120+mph with gusts even higher. We stayed at the house for Charley and will most likely do the same if this one comes at us. If it gets to a 5 and is going to head into central FL, I will be heading out AZ for a much needed vacation. |

Fence gone. Not sure where it went it just went. Shed gone. Found most of it in the neighbors pool and yard. Trees got a couple left standing. Got lucky on the power as we lost it at 8:00pm Friday and had it back at 7:00am Saturday. 3 of People that stayed with us during the storm lost their houses. They have been told by FEMA that FEMA will help them after their insurance companies pay them. They are still waiting for their insurance to come out to see the damage. |

One of my friends who is living in the shell of a house he has left is spending $20 a day on gas for the generator. He is on the Osceola/Polk line in Poincianna. I keep telling him to pack up what he can and get the hell out of there. All that mold that is building in the walls and carpet is going to have a severe effect on his health later on. His wife and kids did leave but he is determined to stay and wait for the insurance adjuster. |

Good news if you work for the cable company. My guys are making $22/hr repairing lines:thumbsup

ACK
Something in me wants to go stay down there while it's coming through, though.... Glad Charley didn't have that sort of storm track. Internext would have been REALLY interesting. |
Don't get scared, it's just a tornado with rain :Graucho

KRL we better go rescue all those strippers!!!

If the same people are hit 2 times I would really feel sad for them ... Imagine loosing your trees and having like 15k $ dammage, re-building and boom, a month later it's gone
|
Supposed to be a busy hurricane season the next couple years.
|
the wider the cone the larger the error, we won't know for sure untill around labor day weekend, so it's still early to predict where it would hit
|
what the average lifespan of a 'cane? isnt 5-6 days before landfall a longshot?

Woo another hurricane!
|
once it hits land it dies fast couple days maybe 3, it thrives on hot water mostly coupled with other things i have no idea about, but it can easily cross florida and keep on going, unless there's a front of some sort to pick it up or kill it
hopefully that thing will either turn or try and go over the mountains down there and get broken up, i dont think we need another hurricane hit here |
I feel your pain, I lost a cherry 70' monte' carlo & some nice furniture to Andrew a few years back...
S. Florida is a fun ass place to be cept for those nasty hurricanes & humidity...other than that I love the place... |
When Andrew hit it was so big that you could not see the state of florida via satalite.
It his with winds gusting to like 250+. I was there. It was amazing. The it hit the gulf, and continued to New Orleans. When it hit there, it still had most of the strength. Nasty business that. |
Another day in paradise..... I will be prepared. Nothing good comes out of this. The bright side is it may brush South Florida but Andrew was about the same path so who knows.:helpme
