would you pay for a marijuana license?
the gov won't make weed legal since they can't really tax it since people would grow and sell better stuff. But how about a smoking license that lets you smoke as much weed as you want and costs something like $500 a year and you would be allowed to get weed from wherever you want. The only problem is finding a way to catch people who smoke in thier house...

I don't need a license to buy alcohol or cigarettes so I won't buy a license to smoke weed.
If marijuana were legalized you would need a license to sell it to the public. You don't need a license to brew your own beer or make your own wine. I don't know about growing tobacco but how many people do you know who grow their own tobacco ? There's no reason to make growing marijuana in your basement illegal. You tax the sale not the cultivation. If you're caught selling to the public without a license you're shut down. That's the way it works with alcohol and tobacco there's no reason to do it differently with marijuana. |
I prefer the idea of taxing it in the first place and sell it only to adults with ID, use the tax money to more than cover the problems some people say would happen.

Why should the government have the right to charge you for a license to grow and consume anything? Drug laws are unjust to start with, I don't know anyone that would cave in and buy a license to smoke weed. It's about protecting our freedoms and practicing civil disobedience.

Prohibition didn't work the first time, what makes them think it's working now? |
I get weed whenever I want already.
I would rather spend the $500 on more weed. Its only a $80 ticket if they catch you with less than an ounce here anyhow. People smoke weed outdoors on the streets out here. And in bar bathrooms with the other regular smokers. :1orglaugh However, I would pay $500 for a license to grow. |
of course

Oh BTW it has nothing to do with taxation. Look at the public outcry when Canada decriminalized marijuana. With all this "anti drug" propoganda and "the war on drugs" it would be political suicide for any major politician to openly support the decriminalization or legalization of marijuana.
There's far too many people out there who still believe that marijuana is a harmful drug and their children need to be protected. But as long as they have their alcohol, cigarettes, morning coffee, advil, xanax, valium and they can go ask their doctor about zoloft when they want to everything's ok. |
Fuck a marijuana-license. Just go to Holland

Why don't the gov just kill it and start selling weed smoke packs @ 5 $ a pack for 20 joints ...
Growing weed is very inexpensive ... |
