I'm looking for a Domain Registrator THAT logs WHOIS requests

Similiar to Apache logging every webserver request it's possible for a Domain Registrator to log every WHOIS request ..

i want those logs for my domains

any registrators that offer a service like that?

13 $ Paypal

Ok

Here i will explain it in simple words

first guy does a WHOIS request on MY-DOMAIN.COM

a whois request works like this

- ask Internet for the Whois Server
- ask the Whois server for the data

the Whois server can log every request

i need those logs

got it? i could draw a picture as well if you need it

Not possible because everybody is able to do public whois requests.Even if it would be possible through the icann what use would some IPs have to you?Would be nice if it would be possible tho.

Two request are beeing made

One to Internic to obtain the Whois Server of Ebay (whois.networksolutions.com) and one to obtain the autorize answer from that Whois Server whois.networksolutions.com

whois.networksolutions.com is able to log all requests

johndoebob 08-27-2004 12:26 AM

Theoreticly able to log but they don't and some dyn IPs from people who are doing whois requests are useless anyway. You can still request whois informations directly from the icann too which your registrar couldn't log.

cmon, i'm sure some small registrators run by hardcore geeks offer such a service

and: icann is not authoritive. i know several registrators where i could change the whois info every minute ... how should icaan be aware of this????!?!?!?!?

Nope don't know of any, but why do you want to know how much people check your whois? It doesn't get clear to me, the IPs are useless.

You can do direct requests for .com domains at internic.org also the whois.sc bot makes requests from time to time which you can see at their site when you whois a domain there without the user having to request informations directly from the registrars whois server.

internic.org does not contain personal data and is not the authoritative WHOIS server. i don't care about non authoritative WHOIS requests.

and i can tell whois.sc from the ips. basically, i just want to know IF ppl whois my domain :Graucho

i'm sure there is some registrator out there offering such a service ... 25 $ Paypal Reward ... Share your Secrets :winkwink:

where does it say that it logs WHOIS requests?

FYI: I'm not interested in an anonymous domain registrator like domainsbyproxy, but if they have WHOIS logfiles u get your 30 $

Contact them to see if they do. I can't think of any other registrar that does or would except possibly them.
