Why are laptops so huge
 

Went to the store today and most of the laptops were so damn huge. I am looking for a nice small laptop (12-13" screen) but don't want to pay $2K for a Sony Vioe. I found some Averatec laptop for only about $850, which is very small but looks cheap. Are there any other brands out there?

I haven't had a laptop for years. Last one I owned singed my pubic hair through my jeans. When I go out or away now, I leave the computers at home.

i remember like 5 years ago, all laptops were very small. It looks like they are just getting bigger and bigger

look at the IBM's... I got a T40 its thin and light

try a fujitsu lifebook... they do have them in a smaller size. im looking at a smaller sized laptop for shits n giggles but i'll probably go with a vaio.

most new laptops have big ass screens which most people like. Myself I have a big ass Sager notebook, more less a desktop replacement but I haul it to the office pretty much all the time.

yeah but what price range are they in? around $1K-$1.5K or are they at least $2K

If you want a good work laptop you gotta invest some bling ...

I got one but I hate working on laptop anyways . I hate the screen, mouse and keyboard ...

i got one with a 17" screen, but i still hate the keyboard..

check out the sony picturebook. That thing is the smallest full on laptop that I know of right now.

Some of the laptops they sell these days are more like.. desktop replacements.

Real notebooks are out there.. but you might not find them at like best buy.

Look around online...

Check Samsung X10 or X15 series.

They are very small and pretty cool and aren't too expensive.

I was on the same situation than you and i choose a Samsung :thumbsup
