Your experience with $800-900/month outsourced webmasters

Let me guess:
  • Each one of these $800-900 "full time, dedicated" guys actually works for 3-5 clients at least, resulting in at least 3-5 times higher costs on your end to achieve truly "full time" work results?
  • Plus you run the risk of your work results being resold multiple times all over the place?
  • On top of that the quality just isn't there?

Please share you experiences...

P.S.: Please mention what kind of work you did (not) get done. I am specifically looking for text writers

Outsourced a designer not webmaster but he was available on ICQ 50 hours a week and if he was working on more stuff than just mine he must be Superman.

Friend outsourced a webmaster to do submissions, same experience.

Why the fuck would they need to pile them up with mulitple "bosses" when the average salary there is like $200. They can easily hire another person for the job.

xxxoutsourcing.com is where I got my designer from and he was great.

chri$tian 08-26-2004 05:37 PM

Sounds about right.. But there are a rare few who are good..

I have an excellent employee from www.adultoutsourcing.com

:thumbsup

SetTheWorldonFire 08-26-2004 05:38 PM

anymore feedback?

I'm interested to know.

I'm working with one on just a side job and they pretty dedicated to the time they spend with you. I don't know if it's the same story with the full time webmaster.

:2 cents:

Where do I get a good designer/programmer for cheap? :winkwink:

Doctor Dre 08-26-2004 06:04 PM

The guy really works for you fulltime . I've hired one for a month . But it wasn't a 900 $ one .

Thoses guys get paid very little actually ... but over there it's gold .

The things really don't cost as much ...

I've had him do a lot of work ... he worked kinda fast . But he was nowhere the quality of a good webmaster comming out of school here .

But maybe with 800-1000 $ ones it could be better

the question is, what's the word "cheap" mean for you. I think i can go for $300-500 per 40h\week. $800-1000 available too ;)

gornyhuy 08-26-2004 07:57 PM

Its $800-900 per MONTH not week, plus they work 6 day weeks over there.

Unfortunately I can't really answer the question yet, but I'll be more knowledgable shortly. :Graucho

If you are paying that much you are paying too much.

Hit me up, we have room in our offices in Kolkata for more people if you want.. I can probably get you someone for under 1/2 of what you just mentioned and English is their first language.

ICQ me - 9530782

Mister B 08-26-2004 08:25 PM

i mean $300-500 month, for 40h work week ;)

I've had experience with a small dedicated staff overseas, and to be quite honest, I was disappointed. If you're looking for someone to turn out hundreds of banners or galleries - than you coud definitely get away with it. However, if you're looking for someone to go that extra mile and produce outstanding work - these aren't your guys.

Trax 08-27-2004 02:27 AM

I am always looking for people.
Hit me up please: 59 101 924

Note: I want NO ONE from xxx outsourcing or adult outsourcing to contact me!

thanks

We tried it, here is our experience.

1/ Time zone was a problem, were told that our guy would work same time as us. That never happened and we only had contact with him for 3 hours a day.

2/ We gave instructions to build a front page tour, gave him samples of what we wanted, opened up all our content for him to select what he needed. The site niche was Euro teens which is 90% of our content. The webmaster selected the 10% Asian content we have and used that.:glugglug

3/ Webmaster kept changing. One day it was all "yes sir I can do that for you sir" then the next day it was "hey dude no problem, that?s cool, will get on it now dude". Obviously we were not always talking to the same dedicated webmaster.:1orglaugh

4/ Lot of typo errors in design, even put the wrong domain name in the logo.

The design was average, overlooking the fact all Asian girls were used. It was quick but had to go back for corrections. The guy was polite and helpful even with his split personality.

You get what you pay for I suppose.

We have some guys in india working for us, and they've done some great work! It took some time to find them though.

We are located in Norway so the time zones is not an issue.

This is although not a dedicated webmaster, this is a company which have developed a few of our projects and designed them.

Their english is not perfect - but hey - it's understandable.

It is also GREAT that they work on saturdays :Graucho

Exactly what I found. I got done so little work myself because I was always holding his hand. Would pick pantyhose pictures for a panty site. Didn't know how to do real SE html work. Was a great designer, but just wasn't worth it.

$5submissions works good for me :glugglug

Marcus 08-27-2004 08:43 AM

I used a popular gallery submission service and paid the $225 for their best monthly package.

The traffic I got was a miniscule. They said they'd hand submit and it was bullshit. My galleries were run through a submitter program and submitted to the shittiest no-name tgps.

So for $225 I ended up getting 1 sale for $35.

To compare I used the same galleries on Dusen's service a year ago and made over $1,000 in the first month.

I'll never use an "outsourced webmaster" service again.

thanks!
