My friends use that word ... it's not only about GFY ... like CJ, b0g etc are using that word.

i never heard it until i came here - it is not taught in english classes at school

Yes you are right, originated in gaming world... anyone who has a clue about PC's knows what it means.

Its a pretty common term. I don't know about the "real world" but its standard internet vocabulary at least

Owned = overused

it is used, a lot.

That's to 99% an internet thing, never heard that in real life...

i've heard people say it in real it's pretty sad ha "i just owned you" my response "hey buddy KILL YOURSELF!"
