Webmasters, how do you respond to an email like this...

I just launched a new fitness membership monthly recurring site (I customize fitness plans for each member for $19.95 a month, and prepared within 24 hours of their signup)

Just got an email like this

"Message: If I join and for any reason I need to cancel my membership how will I go about doing this in an easy way."

Of course he can cancel easily, but what I'm worried about is him trying to cancel immediately after he recieves the fitness plan (which is basically what they're paying for), and I have in the refund policy that they can cancel after they recieve the fitness plan and stop all future rebills, but not get their $19.95.

Could this guy, or anyone else for that matter, start a chargeback and get their $ even regardless of agreeing to the refund policy on signup, and recieving the fitness plan?

thanks.

Depends, how is the fitness plan delivered?

In full? In part?

Best way it would seem to *me* would be to ensure the client kept rebilling by only giving them a section of the 'fitness plan' each month ;)

That way if they do cancel.. they only get 1/2 as fit ;)

Regards,

Lee

They can chargeback regardless....its your job to prove to the CC company that he recieved services and or product. If your worried about him charging back...I do not believe its worth the $19.95 in your pocket....just dont sell to him...

well the way it works is I get as specific as possible with the information I have to use from their signup... I can continue to fine-tune and make adjustments depending on their future progress... so in a way it isn't delivered in full, but as full as it could be.

here's what I responded with, sound convincing at all?

"Yes you can cancel your account easily. However, we put time and effort into each and every fitness plan we customize, and if you do not cancel before receiving your fitness plan we cannot issue a refund. This prevents fraudulent actions from members trying to receive our services for free.

**Cancelling your account WILL permanently stop any future charges**

If you decided to cancel your membership after having stayed more than a month, you will not be issued a refund for your first month or any prior months leading up to the month of cancellation.

In the case that a member demands a refund after the fitness plan has been delivered, we keep detailed member-traffic logs that allow us to prove to credit card companies that the member recieved the fitness plan and agreed to our refund policy before signing up.

In the case that you need to cancel your membership after having received the fitness plan, the only way you will be issued a refund is by not clicking on the "Diet Plan" and "Workout Plan" links. This proves to us that you did not access or read the fitness plans customized for you.

The fitness plans we customize are accurate and of high quality. If you feel that your customized fitness plan is not of high quality or inaccurate, we encourage you to simply give us feedback from our client/trainer messaging system and your trainer will work with you on creating a workable solution.

I hope this has answered your question sufficiently!"

www.healthygo.com

yeah I actually just nearly finished the affiliate script (preview: www.healthygo.com/affiliateshow.htm)

and I'm in the process of creating the affiliate program site: www.dreamache.com/healthconverts/html (not finished, will be soon though)

He is probably just abit gun shy of all the bs he sees on the web and in rl. Was probably a member to a site that had no easy way to cancel and wanted to make sure you weren't another one of those places.

I doubt he cares for a refund at all, just doesn't want to get into a "Bally's" fucked for the next 3 years contract...
