dont you wonder about the people who contact you over icq?

i get countless messages in a day, but the ones that stick out are the ones where people say hello..and that is it...lol

i have to prompt them on every step..its like they are afraid to talk..lol


anyone ever get those?

requesting authorization, with no message and then never replying. grrrrr!

What's worse is when people do it on the phone. I have a friend who will call and he won't say what he wants unless I ask him. It's annoying and funny at the same time. What do you people want!

It is good solution, you could also use spam control in ICQ in Security and Privacy permission option!!

yeah, i get that a lot too. I think if YOU request my authorization then YOU should start the convo. I usually give them a few minutes and then say 'hello?'

I dot have time to chat with everyone. It would take all day.

Not me. I let them add me to their list and if they don't say anything... that's that.

What's really funny is when they contact me 2 weeks later and say "Yes? What can I do for you?".... like I contacted them or something.

Yes, another thing that drives me batshit is idiots who message you and just say "Hello? You there?" ... it's ICQ for crap sakes, you can just say what it is that's on your mind and the other person can get back to you when they get on.

It's like some people just can't grasp the concept that you can just say what it is you want instead of "Hello? Anybody there?" :ak47:

The funniest one's are the people that have obviously contacted me before where I have been rude and told them to fuck off cause they wanna 'sex up me.' or some other wacked out shit. They will say 'please do not make swear at me' or 'please i want you as friend, don't yell me' LOL those one's crack me up!! LOL

I gave up running ICQ in the backgrround about 6 years ago. Nowdays I only fire it up if someone wants me to contact them that way but it's off right after that.
