USA cars: long, wide, big (bulky), ugly, heavy, not economical, big engines (useless) , usable only for straight roads

I'd say they design what they think will sell in their market. If that ends up being boxy or bulky or whatever, then so be it. Ford and GM would design a box on wheels if they thought it would sell well. Their goal is to make money, not to make style.

Caddys are nice

Mustangs are nice

Corvettes are nice

German cars = probably the best quality, on looks and performance

looks are your taste but no way on performance

looks are personal opinion but performance, i like jap cars.

absolutely true the F serie rocks, then again think of it like this, in Holland, id pay like $400 per 3 months roadtax, 10 bucks per gallon and thanks to the 40% import tax weve got this car would be well over 100.000... I cant park it anywhere since it takes 2 parking spaces, cant put it in a garage and with the climate here the chrome will be gone in 5 yrs.

I like the american pickups suvs etc and you do see them, rich guys who have one, navigators, zz71s, so part of the story is this, but youre right theres nothing compared to a f250... if only the oil prices dropped then i could get one :Graucho

actually, many of the Russian cars are copied from other models. Like the Lada was taken from the Italian model.

Burns fuel like crazy, only 2 people can be accomodated in confort, it's big, slow, you can't fit in tight space if you want to park it in a city area...

Do you see "city area" in the background of that pic? Trucks are useful for many things, especially 4WD ones.

In all fairness, American cars are probably the most reliable on the road right now. I drive a German car, and for all the comfort and precision, they still break down quite often. My father has a Pontiac and the damn thing will last 20+ years without any major maintenance.

Show me a 3 year old american car that doesn't have a service history longer than your arm...

Know why people hardly buy used maerican cars anymore and ones who do pay fuck all for them? They ar enot reliable and they don't last past a waranty.

I'm a fan of having the right tool for the job. If you haul a lot of heavy things with that truck, even if only periodically, then it's absolutely the right choice. If all it hauls is your webbie ass down to the In-N-Out every day, then it's probably not the best choice.

Unless you're the heavy thing it's hauling, in which case I can understand that. :thumbsup

Answer me this though... we have those behoemoths up here too... but almost exclusively they're driven by tiny 5'1" 100lbs chicks with big hair. Chicks so tiny they need a friggen stepladder to get in the cab. WTF do they need a monster like that for?
