Got out of jury duty!!!!

My glasses broke. i think my husband stepped on them this morning, cuz I know my feet hadn't hit the floor yet when I found them with the lens out, then when I tried to pop the lens in they snapped off at the bridge. i have contacts, I just never wear them because my husband smokes and smoke make them really uncomfortable.
ANyway, I know who the person is on trial, and it was an assault case. I would have been outed anyway b/c I have "previous knowledge of the defendant".
Now I get to go back to bed since my 3yo had me up til 3am, and was up again at 4:45. Ugh. She's sleeping now, so I'm gonna go take advantage of it while the baby's sleeping, too.
Sorry no juicy stories, guys, but I have to say, I'm relieved at not having to go!

Definitely! Thanks for the sweet dreams, but alas, the bambino woke up before I fell asleep, so I am sitting here still, lol, too brain-dead to do anything productive.:sleep

I remember those days.. Sadly kids grow up too fast these days..

Mine are 11 and 14..

I always seem to luck out too. Twice now I've gone there and they sent me home. Seems they usually summon way more then they need.

Yeah they do.. That's because there are soo many that can't be used because they're too close to the case in one way or another..

I've only been called once.. I got lucky as well and got sent home..

:winkwink:

I'm missing the meaning of that part

Ive gotten out of jury duty many times. Just make sure you register your business with the state. Put your EIN # on the form and state you have business related work that needs your attention and voila! Your out!

Well, I am assuming, but I think it's a pretty safe asumption, that if you know the defendant, the prosecution won't let you on his jury.

That they do. Sometimes I wish mine would grow up faster but other times I don't. Kids are wonderful though.
