anyone know how to get rid of a palm tree?

I have a big ass palm tree in my back yard. 30 feet tall at least. I want that fucker out. I've heard of palm tree movers that will pay you for the tree, however, I also found out that the type of palm we have is the least profitable, since they are EVERYWHERE in LA. If it were a rare breed it could yield 6k.

Anyone in LA know of a good palm tree removal specialist?

What's your address?

I'll send Fletch over with a can of gasoline and some matches, free of charge. :Graucho

ad weed to it and get it stoned, that should help LOL

12 guage and a box of buckshot should do the trick.

Redshoe..

Hack it back to about 1ft from the ground.

Gouge out a hole in open part of the trunk (the top part) and fill it with lime.

Itll kill the remaining trunk and root system within a couple of days :thumbsup

We end up doing that every year in Florida to our garden palms.

Regards,

Lee

If that dont work try some copper nails into the trunk.

I think those things have a really small and shallow root system, so if you go up it with a ladder leaning on it and start hacking it from the top, keep that in mind.

a monkey and a chainsaw

MattO 08-23-2004 02:33 PM

put a spell on it

You don't need a "tree removal specialist" use a chainsaw.

that should be a true test of your tree felling skills

Fletch XXX 08-23-2004 03:43 PM

you realize companies by palm trees right?

you can get 25k for a good tall palm.

they take forever to grow and depending on the tree itself, you may or may not be able to do it yourself.

id sell it if possible.

where do you think the city gets those pretty palms they line the nice neighborhoods with? They buy them from folks in the ghetto.

get ya money mayn

Maybe the electrical company (or whomever owns the cables) will remove it as safety maintenence?

Worth giving 'em a call.

I spent over $30k for 6 30 foot palm trees "installed" - I'd see if you can sell them.... It's worth the money, and I know people will buy 'em.
