What's with the recent flood of selling programs and sites?

Damn it starts to look like everybody's running to get out.

Tons of affiliate programs for sale
Resources sites and more.

Is there any particular reason for this recent trend?

mardigras 08-23-2004 10:53 AM

Must be scared of 2257:glugglug

RicardoB 08-23-2004 10:55 AM

That would explain for the aff proggies but I also saw a lot of resources sites for sale.

They have nothing to do with 2257

EscortBiz 08-23-2004 10:56 AM

Rich 08-23-2004 10:57 AM

I've seen at least 6 aff proggies and 4 resources sites in the last two days.

And that's just on this board.

I don't think it's any more people selling out then usual.. maybe more people posting about it on GFY.

This biz can take a lot out of you physically and emotionally..

Doctor Dre 08-23-2004 01:45 PM

I don't see any big site for sale ... small webmaster ressources aren't really profitable

Brinner 08-23-2004 02:00 PM

I'd say the new laws coming out coverning porn a lot of people are chaning professions.

Nate-MM2 08-23-2004 02:03 PM

If you look at polls around the web probably close to 30% of webmasters are either getting out completely because of 2257 regulations or seriously overhauling their online empire which may mean selling hardcore sites, link-lists, TGP's, etc.. basically anything that could be hit hard by new regs.

That could be but it's an overall increase on all boards.

They don't cost much either.

It just strikes me as odd to see it so often on the boards lately

Wouldn't you say that's a bit premature?

Better to get out now rather than later should the shit hit the fan and the secondary market becomes flooded with programs & sites.

If I were at risk with no hope of compliance I would probably consider selling now to somebody with immunity from the new laws should they come into play. If it all blows over you can start again fresh with some money to work with.
