It's all FUN AND GAMES until someone pulls out a DESERT EAGLE and starts shooting 2AM
 

Twice now in one week I have been within 10 yards of someone who opened fire. First was Wednesday in front a a little club in small town of rich-ies a guy starts shooting out of his window. Then again last night downtown this prick pulls out a D.E. and lets of a round right at this guy! Missed him but cleared out a city block in 5 SECONDS! ( This was in Ohio, not the D) What the hell is going on, this hasn't happend at these bars in 10 years! I'm going back to carring my 9mm.

i wouldn't start carrying a gun into bars if i were you, you can get into some serious shit for that. but on the other hand, if i saw that happen, they would have their throat slit from ear to ear before they had time to re-aim.

I never carried when I was going to drink, just when we shot an event. We are juicy targets carring equiptment out of a bar at 2am.

Agreed. banning guns does nothing more than keep them out of the hands of law abiding citizens. criminals, are already planning on commiting a crime. what's another 5 years on their sentence for an illegal gun?

crime does not recognize the distinctions of class now adays. i happen to live in a pretty affluent suburb, yet there are things that happen here.

home invasions, rapes, murders.

perhaps not with the requency that it happens in "other" areas. but people are no means immune just because of where they live.

i wouldn't trust my safety strictly to a location.

where you live, no matter what class of neighborhood is not a factor. if someone wants you dead, you'll be dead.

The town I was in Wed. is one of the most "upscale" communities in NW Ohio. It wasn't the location that mattered, it was the crowd that came that night. The shooting was in front of a small bar which holds about 150. It only took 1 person to shoot. :feels-hot

I'm not 100% pro or con when it comes to gun control but you or someone in your household is more likely to be injured by a firearm than to ever need it for self-defense.

I always keep a Smith & Wesson 5906 model 9mm with me in my car and always in arms reach. Around here there is usually 1 murder every 3-4 days. Its like the fuckin wild west.

well. agreed, but that is simply a matter of probabilty. you won't be injured by your own gun if you don't have your own gun.

here's a fun example:

people who own tigers are 5 times more likely to be mauled by a tiger, then people who don't own tigers.

the gun stats they give you are a little slanted ya know?

but that is why people need to take steps to insure that their family is educated in how to safely operate and carry a firearm.

Sounds like a pretty rough area.

It doesn't matter where someone lives. All that matters is where you are. If someone wants you bad enough, your neighborhood isn't going to save you, your house won't save you, and the cops will be too late to save you.


I don't live in a city, nor a ghetto. I live out in the country, on an acre of land, with only two houses in viewing distance, one of which is hidden by trees during the spring and summer.

You bet your ass there are guns in my house. If anything happened out here, the sheriff and paramedics wouldn't get here fast enough to save anyone's life.


I've also made it clear that there are guns in my house; the sign on the door tells it: This house guarded by shotgun three nights a week. You guess which three.
