No laws but your hosting company will still shut you off in a heartbeat :)

I believe ,given some discussions about this, that the Canadian law considers SPAM like Free Speech. If the Canadians want to spam the shit out of themselves thats fine, but when their shit ends up in mailboxes outside of Canada, thats another story. Neither the Canadian or US Government ( w/ I CAN SPAM) is doing much to stop SPAM. The US is targeting a few mega abusers though.

Python Video (Dollar Machine) and all its aliases http://www.spamhaus.org/rokso/listin...Dynamic%20Pipe

is probably the worst EMAIL abuser of ALL porn sponsors and of course is based in Canada. It is also a major advertiser on GFY.

Webfinity/DynamicPipe/Python has found a friend in the USA. The Scumbags at WebAir(SPAMAIR) are currently hosting part of their operation

In short, its hard to pick on the Canadians when more SPAM comes out of the USA. THe USA is rated #1 while Canada is a distant #5.....

They will? Strange - we've been pushing about 15mbit sustained (with 25mbit bursts here and there) of mail traffic & spamvertised dating sites for the last 18 months...our upstreams continue to take me out for steak dinners instead of shutting me off. :2 cents:

Yes you can. But being across the border does make it more difficult.

Unlike the US, there has been no high profile case involving AOL in Canada. I believe that there has been some American company that made an attempt to sue some Toronto based spamming group. I forgot the details but I don't think it went too far.

That being said, there are no specific laws against spamming in Canada. So even if AOL, MSN or Earthlink where to sue, for lack of a better term, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. They could try to extradite someone to the US but that would make it cost prohibitive for them.

Other than hacking laws there are none relating to the Internet in CA. The only other computer related offence is a Blue Boxing law from the 1970's.
